New Works by Hamish Linklater, Cory Hinkle & More Set for Cape Cod Theatre Project's 2014 Season

Artistic Director Hal Brooks has announced the 2014 season for Cape Cod Theatre Project, featuring staged readings of new work by Hamish Linklater, Cory Hinkle, Alena Smith, and The Lobbyists and Seth Moore. They will be joined in Falmouth, Massachusetts by writers-in-residence Sarah Burgess, Mona Mansour and Stella Ragsdale.

Hamish Linklater (The Vandal, The Flea Theatre) presents his new play Just Lean Out Your Window and Shout. Performances are on July 10, 11 and 12. Linklater can be seen performing in the television comedy The Crazy Ones, and has also starred in The Good Wife, HBO's The Newsroom, The Big C, and The New Adventures of Old Christine. Currently, he is starring as Benedick in the Public Theater's current Free Shakespeare in the Park production of Much Ado About Nothing.

Former Jerome Fellow Cory Hinkle (A Disappearance in Two Parts) opens the season with The End of Beauty directed by Jackson Gay (These Paper Bullets!). Performances are on July 3, 4 and 5.

Creator of the Twitter character Tween Hobo, Alena Smith (The Bad Guys, writer for HBO's The Newsroom ) presents The New Sincerity directed by Stella Powell-Jones (17 Orchard Point). Performances are on July 24, 25, and 26.

Folk rock group The Lobbyists (Tommy Crawford, Eloïse Eonnet, Alex Grubbs, Will Turner, Tony Vo and Douglas Waterbury-Tieman) and playwright Seth Moore (The Man With American Skin) present their new musical SeaWife. SeaWife is directed by Liz Carlson (Artistic Director of Naked Angels). SeaWife performs on July 17, 18 and 19.

The 2014 writers-in-residence are Sarah Burgess, Stella Ragsdale and Mona Mansour.

For the past 19 years, The Cape Cod Theatre Project has brought top theater artists together to present staged readings to help develop the best new American plays and playwrights in the country. Of the 64 plays developed, 46 have gone on to Broadway, off-Broadway, to the country's finest regional theaters and to other theaters around the world. Plays developed at The Cape Cod Theatre Project have later been produced at The Manhattan Theater Club, Playwrights Horizons, The Roundabout Theater, The Daryl Roth Theater, The Rattlestick Theater, The Public Theater, The La Jolla Playhouse, Rep Theater of St. Louis, Dallas Theater Center, and many, many others.
