Get a first look at Sister Act at the Lyric Stage Company of Boston! Featuring a choir of cheeky, loveable nuns led by the fabulous, unforgettable, (and sequin loving!) Deloris Van Cartier, toes will be tapping and spirits will be lifted at this celebration of friendship, the joy of music, and the importance of togetherness.

Sister Act with Music by Alan Menken, Lyrics by Glenn Slater,  Book by Bill and Cheri Steinkellner, and Additional Materials by Douglas Carter Beane will be Directed by Leigh Barrett with Musical Direction by David F. Coleman and Choreography by Dan Sullivan will raise the roof and lift spirits this spring at Lyric Stage Boston made in part possible by our Corporate Sponsor for the production, Brookline Bank.

What happens when you take an Oscar Wilde classic play from the Naughty Nineties, add about a dozen original musical numbers, and update the story and setting to London's swinging Carnaby Street in the sixties? Well, if you put it in the hands of Director/Choreographer Ilyse Robbins and Music Director Steve Bass, you get a rom-com that is heavy on both the romance and the comedy, a ride in the wayback machine, and an afternoon (or evening) delight at the Greater Boston Stage Company in Stoneham.

Greater Boston Stage Company opens its 19th Season with Being Earnest, Paul Gordon and Jay Gruksa's irrepressible musical interpretation of Oscar Wilde's classic, The Importance of Being Earnest. Directed and choreographed by Elliot Norton and IRNE Award-winner Ilyse Robbins, performances run September 13 - October 7, 2018. The Press Opening is Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 3:00pm.

MY FAIR LADY is one of the grande dames of musical theater and the Lyric Stage Company is giving her the royal treatment she deserves under the erudite direction of Scott Edmiston, with musical direction by Catherine Stornetta. In a production packed with quality portrayals across the board, Jennifer Ellis takes her considerable skills to a new level with a performance that is at once humorous, heartbreaking, and triumphant. And then she sings.

As the Lyric Stage has shown with Into the Woods, Sweeney Todd, Big River, and more, our forte is turning a grand musical into a completely thrilling event in our uniquely intimate space. Now, director Scott Edmiston will re-fashion My Fair Lady, the delightful story of a down-on-her- luck London flower girl taken on as an 'experiment' by a chauvinistic speech therapist, into another Lyric Stage winner. Based on George Bernard Shaw's beloved play Pygmalion, My Fair Lady introduced the world to a treasure trove of classic tunes including 'I Could Have Danced All Night,' 'On the Street Where You Live,' 'The Rain in Spain,' and 'I've Grown Accustomed to Her Face.'

Due to unanimous critical and audience acclaim, INTO THE WOODS has been extended through June 29, with performances Wednesdays & Thursdays at 7:30pm, Fridays at 8pm, Saturdays at 3pm & 8pm, Sundays at 3pm. This is the FINAL possible extension due to the start of our summer teen program, Lyric First Stage.

Broadway's Rick Hilsabeck (Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Billy Elliot, the first national tour of Phantom of the Opera) stars as the curmudgeonly professor Henry Higgins. His real-life co-star Sarah Pfisterer (Phantom of the Opera, Show Boat, Children and Art) is his reluctant protege Eliza Doolittle. The Publick Theatre, known for their outdoor summer theater, has moved inside for the winter with 'Design For Living,' Noel Coward's play based on the group dynamic between himself and his two closest friends, Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne, which opened at the Plaza Theatre at the Boston Center For the Arts this past Sunday.
