The San Diego Theatre Critics Circle has announced the nominations for its 2018 Craig Noel Awards. Now in its 17th year, the Craig Noel Awards honor the achievements of professional theaters in San Diego County. The nominees are chosen by a nine-member body of professional critics who write for San Diego newspapers, magazines, online publications and blogs.

Del The Funky Homosapien performs as his alter-ego Deltron 3030 in an all-new Craig of the Creek episode titled “The Kid from 3030' premiering Monday, Oct. 1 at 5 p.m. (ET/PT) on Cartoon Network. In the episode, Craig, JP and Kelsey meet a robot kid from the future and try to help him complete his mission. This new episode features three original songs written by Del and his longtime collaborator Dan the Automator for the show.

Since its debut earlier this year, the groundbreaking show has been celebrated for the trio's creative and imaginative escapades and spurred a groundswell of excitement from critics, fans across social media, and beyond. Craig of the Creek has also tapped into an emotional sense of nostalgia for audiences and connected with viewers through its relatable characters and universal storylines. The top 10 cable series in premieres among boys 6 - 11 has been hailed for its 'attention to inclusion and positive representation of minorities' by Fast Company and by The Los Angeles Times for its 'power of imagination.'

Cartoon Network announced today its largest slate of content ever from a new wave of creators telling stories that are relevant and reflective of today's kids. The network, which is seeing success in total consumption across its platforms, is also adding more than 30 new games and apps to its mobile and web portfolio that has over 200 million worldwide downloads and now includes a series of podcasts, VR and AR experiences.

San Diego Repertory Theatre (San Diego REP) has announced details for the fifth production of its 42nd season, Vietgone, which will be making its San Diego premiere after a successful Off-Broadway run. A love story like no other from playwright Qui Nguyen ( She Kills Monsters ), Vietgone, will feature innovative artists new to the San Diego REP, including director Jesca Prudencio (Ping Chong + Company) and starring Ben Levin ( Allegiant and Ugly Betty ) and Katherine Ko ( Hollywood and Angels in America ). This moving comedy begins on Thursday, January 25, 2018 and plays through Sunday, February 18, 2018 with an opening night on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at 7 p.m. in the Lyceum Space Theatre at San Diego REP in Horton Plaza.
