Detroit Repertory Theatre 's EVIDENCE OF THINGS UNSEEN Opens 11/1

The Detroit Repertory Theatre enthusiastically announces the opening of Season #62 on Thursday, November 1, 2018 with the Midwest Premiere of Evidence of Things Unseen by Katie Forgette. Curtain opens at 8:30 pm and guests are invited to stay after the performance and enjoy a free champagne afterglow with the cast and crew. Tickets for opening night, and all performances, are still the lowest for professional theatre in the region, $17 - $20, and can be purchased by calling the Theatre box office at (313) 868-1347 or online at detroitreptheatre.com. Evidence of Things Unseen will run Thursdays through Sundays, November 1 to December 23, 2018.

WAIT UNTIL DARK Opens at Penobscot Theatre Company

Penobscot Theatre Company will produce the classic thriller Wait Until Dark by Frederick Knott, in a new adaptation by Jeffrey Hatcher, as the second show in its 45th Season. Performances will run October 18 - November 4 at the historic Bangor Opera House.

FringeNYC Presents STRANGER THAN A RHINO A New Drama Based On Ionesco's RHINOCEROS

The New York International Fringe Festival (FringeNYC) a production of The Present Company presents Stranger Than A Rhino, a contemporary reimagining of Ionesco's Rhinoceros with themes of race, culture and xenophobia, written by Robert Siegel.  William Roudebush directs a cast of eight, including Vick Krishna, Jeremy Lister, Barbara Matovu, Amanda McCallum, Leslie Lynn Meeker, Charles Rubey, David Shakopi and Scott Zimmerman. 

A Charles Dickens Classic Comes Alive At Barter Theatre

Barter Theatre is excited to announce the Charles Dickens classic "Great Expectation" adapted by Catherine Bush on the Gilliam Stage at Barter Theatre. Running Sept. 14 through Nov. 9, "Great Expectations" follows the classic story of Pip as he is thrust from poverty into wealth.

5th Wall Announces Cast For Rock Opera Hard Hitter LIZZIE

5th Wall Theatre is proud to announce the selection of four eminently talented actresses to take on the bloody tale of accused axe murderess Lizzie Borden in LIZZIE, a rock opera musical filled with the adrenaline of a rock concert and the intrigue of one of America's most blood-curdling murder mysteries.  LIZZIE puts a unique spin on the Lizzie Borden tale, reimagining it through a lens that combines Victorian era propriety and a give-no-cares riot girl attitude with book by Tim Maner, music by Steven Cheslik-DeMeyer, and lyrics by Steven Cheslik-DeMeyer and Tim Maner. Reviewers have praised the LIZZIE, calling it "a furiously performed declaration of feminist strength and survivorship" (Chicago Tribune) and "presented with wall-rattling glee...deliciously watchable" (New York Times).

Rebel Playhouse & Lawrence Arts Center Present New Musical About Non-Binary Youth

The Lawrence Arts Center and NYC-based theater company Rebel Playhouse are pleased to present the workshop production of a new musical, THE FANTASTICAL DANGEROUS JOURNEY OF Q, written by Ric Averill with music by Dax Dupuy, directed and choreographed by Sarah Sutliff, and with music direction by Christina Bottley. The show features the talents of local actors as well as that of Clara Kundin, a Lawrence native who is returning to the city from NYC to perform in the show.
