Barter's AIN'T MISBEHAVIN' Raises Money For BC/EFA The acclaimed Cast of Aint Misbehavin' at Barter Theatre in Abingdon Virginia has raised over $12,000.00 for BC/EFA.

Through the generosity of the Barter Theatre's long time, veteran Producing Artistic Director, Richard Rose, nightly donation appeals for Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights AIDS have been made to the audience of Ain't Misbehavin' at the conclusion of each show. Founded in 1988, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS helps men, women and children across the country and across the street receive lifesaving medications, health care, nutritious meals, counseling and emergency financial assistance.

The show's star, Richard E. Waits, is a 16 year veteran of Broadway Bares, one of BC/EFA's most infamous annual fundraising events. Waits' idea to fundraise partnered with Rose's having participated in this donation process a few years ago created a great partnership. With a shared mission of raising funds for BC/EFA, cast members have held the now-famous red buckets for patrons to pass as they exited the theatre after each performance. Night after night, The Abingdon's audiences have given the show a standing ovation and then continued their enthusiasm in the theatre's lobby, where they have shared kind words with cast members and then opened their hearts and their wallets to donate.

The Barter Theatre is in its 85th year and is the nations longest running professional theatre.

Ain't Misbehavin plays until September 8 and the BC/EFA donation opportunities will continue to occur after each performance through the show's close.

The show stars: Syreeta S. Banks (Nell), Vanessa A. Jones (Armelia), Kara-Tameika Watkins (Charlaine), Jerrial Young (Ken), and Richard E. Waits (Andre).

Understudies: George Brown, Sierra White. Music direction by John Bronston, stage management by John “JP” Pollard, direction by Joy R. Vandervort-Cobb
