Urban Stages To Present The New York Premiere Of The Critically Acclaimed Play DOGS OF RWANDA

Urban Stages (Frances Hill, Founding Artistic Director), will close its 34th season with the New York Premiere of Sean Christopher Lewis's DOGS OF RWANDA, directed by Frances Hill and Peter Napolitano. This limited engagement at Urban Stages (259 West 30th Street), begins performances on Friday, March 9, opens on Monday, March 12 and will run through Saturday, March 31, 2018. Beloved BWW and MAC Award-Nominated Cabaret Performer and Actor CHARLOTTE PATTON Dies at 70

Just four months after acclaimed Musical Director Barry Levitt tragically died of a heart attack just hours before a performance at the Laurie Beechman Theatre, Charlotte Patton--a beloved performer for whom Levitt frequently played and was one of his closest friends in Cabaret--died early Thursday morning at Mt. Sinai Hospital after an almost two-year battle with cancer. Both passed away at the age of 70.

Broadway, Las Vegas and regional star, Andrea Wolff, gives an encore performance of her spicy, funny and poignant show, 'Prisoner of Love,' at Don't Tell Mama on Saturday, February 3rd at 8pm. Matthew Martin Ward, as Musical Director, brings his own spin to the late Maestro, Barry Levitt's exquisite arrangements, leading a stellar quartet including violin. Cabaret Award-Winner Janice Hall to Launch New Show in Ninth Annual Urban Stages WINTER RHYTHMS Series

JANICE HALL has made the journey seamlessly and successfully. After a long career on the international opera stage, Hall joined the New York cabaret scene in 2007 and just four years later won a Bistro Award and MAC Award for her critically acclaimed solo show, Grand Illusions: The Music of Marlene Dietrich. Hall has now created a truly unique new show THE OPERA SHOW (WITH NO OPERA)--that merges the two art forms and that will be launched at the Urban Stages WINTER RHYTHMS Series on Saturday, December 16 at 3 pm.

Stephen Hanks to Produce & Host WINTER RHYTHMS Shows at Urban Stages

Cabaret Producer, Promoter, and Performer Stephen Hanks has been chosen by Urban Stages Founding Artistic Director Frances Hill and Director of Musical Theatre Peter Napolitano to Produce and Host the Opening and Closing Night Gala Shows for the organization's Ninth Annual WINTER RHYTHMS SERIES, running this year from December 12 through December 23 at the Urban Stages Theatre (259 West 30th Street, between 7th and 8th Avenues).

Andrea Wolff's PRISONER OF LOVE Carries On with Matthew Martin Ward

Andrea Wolff will perform 'Prisoner of Love,' her final collaboration with the late Musical Director, Barry Levitt, and Peter Napolitano, Director, at Don't Tell Mama on Sunday, October 1st at 7pm and Saturday, November 11th at 5:30pm. Matthew Martin Ward has gamely stepped in to play Barry's exquisite arrangements and lead the band that includes bassist Boots Maleson, violinist Rob Thomas and percussionist Howie Gordon.
