Work Light Productions announced casting today for the 50th Anniversary Tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's iconic musical, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR. Winner of the 2017 Olivier Award for Best Musical Revival, the North American presentation of the Regent's Park Open Air Theatre's production will tech in Syracuse, NY.  The tour will officially launch at Austin's Bass Concert Hall on October 8 through October 13, 2019 before visiting over 30 cities including Los Angeles, Denver, Nashville, Dallas and Chicago.

With The 19th Annual Festival of New Musicals taking place this upcoming weekend, Village Theatre is excited to announce the casting for XY, an uplifting musical about identity and coming to terms with your past; Cold Turkey, a wild and funny satire; Modern, an inspiring tale about a group of Amish teenagers; Eastbound, an poignant story about Chinese brothers in search of a home they've never known; and Cowboy Bob, an adventurous rock musical about a bank-robbing woman. The Festival will take place in Issaquah August 9-11, 2019 and provides an essential platform for writers to develop new works.  Producers Kenny Wax, Wendy & Andy Barnes, George Stiles and Kevin McCollum announced tonight that the new musical SIX by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss will return to Chicago for a sixteen week limited engagement at Broadway In Chicago's Broadway Playhouse starting July 8, 2020 through October 25, 2020. The hit musical, which had its North American premiere at Chicago Shakespeare Theater, concluded its extended run on Sunday, August 4, 2019 and heads to Broadway in February of 2020. Casting and ticket information will be announced at a later date.
