Producer/Promoter/Playwright Marlan Warren is slated to participate in two panels at the eighth annual Los Angeles Women's Theatre Festival Solo Performer Empowerment Weekend via Zoom, which runs from Friday, Sept. 17 through Sunday, Sept. 19.

Broadway’s Carmen Cusack (Wicked, Bright Star, South Pacific), a Tony Award nominee, plays the indomitable Julia Sugarbaker through October 11, when she returns to Broadway in Flying Over Sunset.

Set in a dive bar, the show looks to connect to humanity in a way that all people can relate to no matter race, creed, or color. 

This romantic comedy is directed by Brittany Everitt Smith, and tells the story of Doris and George, who are married, but not to each other. They first meet in 1951 and begin an affair that spans 24 years.

The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage (the Center) announced 42 grants today totaling more than $10.2 million to support the Philadelphia region’s artists and cultural organizations. $900,000 goes to Pew Fellowships, awarded to 12 individual artists working in music, visual art, dance, theater, film, and poetry.
