Baby Jane Dexter to Return to the Metropolitan Room with MORE RULES OF THE ROAD, 4/18 & 4/25

Back from a SRO concert in San Miguel de Allende in Mexico where she performed More Rules of the Road at the Angela Perlata Theater and Opera House, Baby Jane Dexter returns to Metropolitan Room for two performances of that hit show today, April 18 and Today April 25.

In what can only be called a drive-by performance, the indomitable Baby Jane Dexter is bringing 'More Rules of the Road' for two-night special engagement this month. The critically acclaimed traffic-stopper plays two Fridays -- April 18 and 25 -- both at 7pm. Her back-seat driver is Ian Herman, her music director at the piano.

Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs (MAC), dedicated to advancing the art and business of live entertainment, held their 28th Annual MAC Awards celebration last evening at BB King's Blues club in Times Square. Winners in twenty-five categories were announced. The show was hosted by the vivacious singer, band leader, multiple MAC Award winner and 2014 Nominee, Terese Genecco. The gala was produced by Julie Miller and directed by Lennie Watts, the current MAC President. Don Rebic served as Musical Director. Sarah Rice & Friends Come to Classic Quiche, 3/28

You don't have to travel all the way to NYC in order to hear songs from theatre, jazz, Great American and International Song Books and classical stages performed by award-winning singers & instrumentalists. At Classic Quiche in Teaneck, NJ on the last Friday of each month, through November, Broadway Concerts Direct presents top performers in a cozy, intimate salon type setting, with an eclectic mix of musical styles and delicious food. -- All in one evening! We are hoping to turn this into an ongoing Salon series of musical treasures. Sarah Rice, the winner of the 2010 Bistro Award and 2011 MAC Award (Best Female Vocalist), is also an opera singer with many impressive performing and stage credits. She was the original Johanna in Broadway's "Sweeney Todd" with Angela Lansbury, which won multiple Tonys and a Grammy and won Sarah a Theatre World Award. If you're wondering whether or not 2013 was a fantastic year for the cabaret art form in New York, all you have to do is scan the amazing list of nominees for this year's BroadwayWorld New York Cabaret Awards and you'll know it was one of the best ever. So now it's time for all you cabaret performers and fans to vote for the best singers, musicians, songs, and shows of the year. Voting will continue until Sunday night January 5 and the winners will be announced later that week. We hope that all the winners will be able to perform in the Award show on Sunday night February 23 at Joe's Pub.

Produced by writer Rob Lester, the evening, which consists of two different shows (8 & 10 pm) will benefit Cabaret Scenes Magazine, with all proceeds donated to Cabaret Scenes Magazine, the only print publication of its kind, its website, www.cabaretscenes.org and the non-profit Cabaret Foundation. Associate producer is Stevie Phillips. According to producer Rob Lester, this Centennial 'Cahn-cert' includes special 'Cahn-versations' about Sammy and a 'Cahn-Test' with prizes and a raffle.
