Katie Rubin to Headline Comedy Shows at Capital Stage, 3/8-9

On Friday, March 8, and Saturday, March 9 2013 Capital Stage's at 2215 J Street will feature a comedy event headlined by popular actress/comedienne Katie Rubin performing new material from her one-woman comedy show Everything! All at Once!

Jack Gallagher's COMPLETE AND UNFINISHED Extends Again at B Street Theatre thru 3/9

B Street extends nationally acclaimed comedian Jack Gallagher's smash hit show Complete and Unfinished in its intimate B3 space through March 9th. In his newest one-man autobiographical play, Gallagher explores his life through the lens of his search for 'home' and love of music. B Street has already extended Gallagher's show due to overwhelming demand, and now Sacramento patrons have four more chances to enjoy his insightful humor and storytelling.

San Jose Stage Company Presents RED, Now thru 3/3

The color red conjures up emotions of passion, love, lust, anger, and creativity. The Stage production of John Logan's Red has all that and more. 'What do you see?' is the opening line that lays the philosophical foundation for the evening.

B Street Opens Next B3 Show, CARAPACE, Tonight

The B Street Theatre presents the West Coast Premiere of Carapace, by David Mitchell Robinson for its B3 Series. Veteran B Street company member David Pierini plays Jeff, a recovering alcoholic wanting to reconnect with his estranged adult daughter Margo after three years of silence. But Jeff's seemingly simple plan-to heal old wounds by bringing Margo a turtle on her birthday-proves more difficult and demanding than he ever imagined.

OUR PRACTICAL HEAVEN Plays Aurora Theatre Company, Now thru 3/3

Aurora Theatre Company continues its 21st season with the World Premiere of OUR PRACTICAL HEAVEN from acclaimed playwright Anthony Clarvoe (Pick Up Ax, Show and Tell, Ambition Facing West). This family drama, which originated as one of Aurora Theatre Company's Global Age Project (GAP) finalists in 2011, is the third main stage production to develop from the GAP. OUR PRACTICAL HEAVEN plays tonight, January 25 through March 3 at the Aurora Theatre in Berkeley.

The B Street Theatre weaves a spine-tingling tale of loss and revenge in the backwoods of Middle America with Laura Schellhardt's The K of D. Long-time B Street Company members Tara Sissom and Jason Kuykendall create memorable characters as they explore the dark realm of this urban legend. When a reckless driver tragically hits little Charlotte McGraw's twin brother Jamie, he gives her a strange, dangerous gift upon dying no one can explain. Charlottle's rag-tag posse of friends seek revenge on Jamie's killer, Jonny Whistler, who moves in next door and ignites a vicious family feud. But how the feud ends, and who has the last say, remains a provocative mystery.
