Actress/writer/comedian NANCY REDMAN joins forces with director AUSTIN PENDLETON for their third collaboration on the United Solo Theatre Festival: 'The Doctor Is Not In,' a sci-fi comedy exploring the hypocrisy of Hippocrates, November 15 at 2 PM, at Theater Row, 410 West 42nd Street. (this November 15, 2 PM, performance was added after the quick sell-out of Redman's October show.)

The Boulder Ensemble Theatre Company (BETC) is proud to announce the winner of our 2014 Generations new play competition: 'Burning Cities', by Simon Fill. Generations is a residency program, made possible by the Sustainable Arts Foundation, supporting playwrights who are parents of children under 18 years of age.

Steppenwolf Theatre Company continues its 2014/15 subscription season with the world premiere production of Airline Highway, written by Lisa D'Amour (Detroit, How to Build a Forest) and directed by Joe Mantello (The Last Ship, Casa Valentina, Wicked). Steppenwolf's production will be presented by Manhattan Theatre Club (MTC) at their Samuel J. Friedman Theatre on Broadway in Spring 2015. Airline Highway begins previews December 4, 2014 (Opening night is December 14, 2014; Press performances are December 13 at 3pm and December 16 at 7:30pm) and runs through February 8, 2015 in Steppenwolf's Downstairs Theatre (1650 N Halsted St).

The Public Theater begins previews for the New York premiere of STRAIGHT WHITE MEN tonight, November 7. Written and directed by Young Jean Lee, STRAIGHT WHITE MEN runs through Sunday, December 7 in the Martinson Theater with an official press opening on Monday, November 17.

This new co- production runs tonight, November 7 - 16, 2014 at New Perspectives Studio, 458 West 37th Street, with performances Wednesday through Saturday at 7:30pm and Saturday/Sunday at 2:30pm.

Claudio Angelini is the well-known Italian TV news anchor known as the Dan Rather of Italy. He has written a seriocomedy, 'My Wife in a Chador,' in which a Pulitzer Prize nominated author resembling Norman Mailer is recruited to run for Mayor of New York. Coincidentally the author's wife, who is half Arabic, is mugged on the mean streets and is so traumatized by the crime that she decides to return to her Islamic roots and adopt the chador (head covering). The question then becomes: can a man campaigning with an Islamic wife win the mayoralty of our city? When his main opponent is revealed to having been funded by an Emir with terrorist ties, the Mayoral race becomes more than a frolic for the writer -- and the stakes rise considerably higher. Theater for the New City will present the play's world premiere tonight, November 6 to 23, directed by Stephan Morrow.

The Old Globe today announced the cast and creative team for the Old Globe/University of San Diego Graduate Theatre Program presentation of William Shakespeare's Pericles, Prince of Tyre, directed by Ray Chambers and running November 15 - November 23 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Opening night is Saturday, November 15 at 8:00 p.m.
