Based on a true story that gripped the country, When They See Us will chronicle the notorious case of five teenagers of color, labeled the Central Park Five, who were convicted of a rape they did not commit. The four part limited series will focus on the five teenagers from Harlem -- Antron McCray, Kevin Richardson, Yusef Salaam, Raymond Santana and Korey Wise. Beginning in the spring of 1989, when the teenagers were first questioned about the incident, the series will span 25 years, highlighting their exoneration in 2002 and the settlement reached with the city of New York in 2014.

For over 35 years, Lifetime has provided thought-provoking story-telling that champions the voices of women, while entertaining them. Recently igniting a global conversation with the powerful documentary series Surviving R. Kelly, the network continues its commitment to share important women's stories with its upcoming programming slate. Following 2018's highly rated film detailing the untold story of Elizabeth Smart, Lifetime partners with the victim's advocate for a newly greenlit documentary, Smart Justice: The Jayme Closs Case. The 90-minute special, set to premiere Saturday, April 27th at 8pm ET/PT, features Elizabeth Smart's exclusive interviews with key players in Jayme's harrowing case and incredible rescue. Elizabeth also brings together six other well-known victims of abduction for a roundtable discussion to help tell Jayme's story.

Netflix to Release Ava DuVernay's WHEN THEY SEE US on May 31

In 1989, the media dubbed them the Central Park Five and they were forever linked together by that moniker. On May 31, their true story will come to Netflix as a four-part limited series from Academy Award® Nominee and two-time Emmy Award® Winner Ava DuVernay.  Now titled When They See Us, the series is based on the stories of the five men who were wrongly accused of a crime they did not commit.  

THE GIRL IN THE SPIDER'S WEB to Premiere at Rome Film Festival

'The Girl in the Spider's Web' will premiere at the 13th Rome Film Fest. The festival's opening night film will be 'Bad Times at the El Royale.' Parker shared details at Sundance Institute's NIGHT BEFORE NEXT benefit at The Theatre at Ace Hotel in downtown Los Angeles this evening, where he also received the Institute's annual Vanguard Award presented to him by actor and Sundance alum Michael B. Jordan. Parker's The Birth of a Nation was supported by the Institute's renowned Feature Film Program for three years before its premiere, and won both the Audience Award and Grand Jury Prize at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival.
