Premiere Stages is currently presenting the New Jersey premiere of Rohina Malik's compelling play, 'Yasmina's Necklace' at Kean University in Union through September 22. The play is superbly directed by Kareem Fahmy and features a cast that brings Malik's beautifully crafted, emotive, yet entertaining story to life.

Connecting the twin impulses of the time to record the present and collect the past, the exhibition tracks the rising interest in the arts of everyday people, places, and things, spurred in part by massive governmental efforts to document daily life.

The Drama League has named Bevin Ross its new Executive Director, joining Artistic Director Gabriel Stelian-Shanks as Co-CEO of the 103-year-old theatre organization. The Art Institute of Chicago commemorates the centenary of Bauhaus with an exhibition highlighting the output of the acclaimed German art school's textile workshop and its impact on modern and contemporary American art. Weaving Beyond the Bauhaus, on view from August 3, 2019 to February 16, 2020, features 50 works both on and off the loom by pioneering artists such as Anni Albers, Claire Zeisler, Lenore Tawney, Otti Berger, Gunta Stolzl, Else Regensteiner, Ethel Stein, and Sheila Hicks.

Second Stage Theater has announced complete casting for the Broadway production of Tracy Letts's Linda Vista. Directed by Dexter Bullard, the production will feature Ian Barford (Wheeler), Sally Murphy (Margaret), Caroline Neff (Anita), Chantal Thuy (Minnie), Jim True-frost (Paul), Cora Vander Broek (Jules) and Troy West (Michael).
