Los Angeles Inner City Cultural Center, in collaboration with the UCLA Beloved Community Initiative and the UCLA Department of Film, Theater and Television, presented a staged play reading of Thornton Wilder’s 1938 Broadway hit and Pulitzer Prize winner “Our Town” – renamed “Our Town LA” for the occasion -- as a prelude to UCLA’s recent Beloved Community Initiative Awareness Week.

Veteran TV and film actor, director, writer and producer Ted Lange – best known for his 10-year run on the ABC-TV series “The Love Boat” -- has signed on to direct a staged play reading of the Thornton Wilder classic “Our Town” for Los Angeles Inner City Cultural Center this Saturday, April 16 at 3pm in the McGowan Hall Little Theatre on the UCLA campus.

2019 Tony winner Andre De Shields has been attending The National Black Theatre Festival® (NBTF) in Winston-Salem, N. C. since 1995. Dubbed the 'Black Theatre Holy Ground,' NBTF is the international outreach program of the North Carolina Black Repertory Company, founded by the late Larry Leon Hamlin in 1979. The Festival, also founded by Hamlin, has been held biennially since 1989. The NCBRC celebrated its 40th anniversary this year, while the NBTF celebrated its 30th.

On Friday, April 20, authors Veronica Loving and Jazzmine Jackson of the self-published memoir 'Feeding A Monster' amazed audiences during the opening premiere with their stage play adaptation of the book. The stage play was unlike any other play that addressed sexual assault. It followed the real-life story of Loving and Jackson who were victims of a masked predator who happened to be the husband, father, and athlete of the mother and daughter duo.
