Created, directed and produced by Brad Barber, States of America takes viewers on a tour of America, exploring the country one state and one life at a time through a series of short vignettes. Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic much has been written on the effects it has had on theatre companies around the world and the thousands of artists onstage and off that are unemployed until further notice. What hasn't been written about very much is the effect this pandemic has had on audience members. Let's face it, without an audience why would you spend lots of money to mount a production?

Despite the cancellation of in-person gatherings because of COVID-19 concerns, The Johnny Mercer Foundation (JMF) and the American Music Theatre Project (AMTP) at Northwestern University will proceed with plans for the 15th annual Songwriters Project. The week-long program, master classes and workshops will take place online from June 21 to 27.

The Music Institute of Chicago Academy's Dasani String Quartet received the Silver medal in the Junior Division of the 2020 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, which culminated on May 9.

Metropolis Performing Arts Centre announced the installation of a new illuminated marquee that will become the centerpiece of the building and a beacon for downtown Arlington Heights. The marquee project has been over six years in the making, in collaboration with Elmhurst-based South Water Signs and installation is planned for May 2020.
