With the help of celebrated guest artists,American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) raised $1.2 million at its 2018 Season Gala honoring Carey Perloff and her 25-year tenure as artistic director. Proceeds from the gala, held on Saturday, April 7 at San Francisco's Four Seasons Hotel, support A.C.T.'s professional training and education and community programs reaching more than 20,000 Bay Area-based recipients each year.

San Francisco Playhouse presents BORN YESTERDAY

San Francisco Playhouse (Artistic Director Bill English; Producing Director Susi Damilano) announced casting for the third show of its 2017-18 Mainstage Season Born Yesterday. Written by Garson Kanin, the play premiered on Broadway in 1946. Susi Damilano will direct the San Francisco Playhouse revival.

A CHRISTMAS CAROL Returns to American Conservatory Theatre

Featuring a lively cast of dozens, delightful music, gorgeous costumes, and those deliciously spooky ghosts, the Bay Area's favorite holiday tradition returns as American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) presents its celebrated production of the Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol. Now in the theater's 41st year of presenting the holiday classic, this version of A Christmas Carol adapted by Paul Walsh and Carey Perloff stays true to the heart of Dickens's timeless story of redemption and brings a playful sensibility to his rich language. A Christmas Carol runs December 1 24, 2017, at A.C.T.'s Geary Theater (415 Geary Street, San Francisco). Tickets (ranging in price from $20 $135) are available by calling the A.C.T. Shattered by the mysterious death of his father, the king, and shamed by the unnatural acts of his mother, Hamlet's despair has left him a devastated prince.

2017 STRAWBERRY ONE-ACT FESTIVAL Ripens in NYC

The Riant Theatre - the Audelco Award-winning nonprofit providing a nurturing developmental environment for playwrights and theatre creators of diverse cultural backgrounds - presents THE STRAWBERRY ONE-ACT FESTIVAL. A celebration of cultural diversity, THE STRAWBERRY ONE-ACT FESTIVAL will be presented at the Theatre at St. Clement's (423 West 46th Street, between 9th and 10th Avenues, NYC) beginning today, July 13th. The festival will continue through Sunday, July 30th, 2017.

A.C.T. to Stage West Coast Premiere of Tom Stoppard's THE HARD PROBLEM

Following a sold-out run at the acclaimed National Theatre in London, American Conservatory Theater-currently celebrating its 50th anniversary subscription season-will present the West Coast premiere of Tom Stoppard's newest work, The Hard Problem (October 19-November 13, 2016).
