Eight outstanding educators from schools and performing arts centers around the U.S. will work one-on-one with Broadway greats at the 10th Annual FREDDIE G FELLOWSHIP July 10th - 13th. The event is underwritten by Freddie ('G') Gershon, Co-Chairman of the global theatrical licensor Music Theatre International (MTI), his wife Myrna and MTI. The four days of classes and activities honor instructors and teachers who are working to make a difference for their students and communities through the process of staging musical theatre productions in their schools and educational theatre groups. In addition to the all-expense paid visit to New York, each of the teachers' schools receives $5,000 from Freddie and Myrna. The teachers are empowered to identify and select how their respective school's theatre program can best utilize the funds.
On Saturday April 27th, 2019, the 3rd Annual NJ Junior Theater Celebration is set to take place at Harrington Middle School in Mt. Laurel, NJ at 9am in the school's auditorium. Based on a program designed and created by iTheatrics, a leading musical theater education company based in NYC, the Celebration brings together high schools, middle schools, elementary schools, and community organizations from all over the region to perform selections from their musicals for adjudication, attend workshops, and celebrate their artistic accomplishments. Leading the workshops and adjudication will be the team from iTheatrics, who also lead similar Celebrations in both Charlotte, NC and Buffalo, NY.
Hundreds of New Jersey's young theatre talent will join together at Harrington Middle School in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey on May 5th for a day of musical theatre performances, workshops, guest clinicians and fun. The celebration will be lead by the creative team at iTheatrics (founders of the Junior Theatre Festival, Broadway Jr Collection, authors of the musical theatred education book 'The iTheatrics Method') and celebrate school theatre programs for elementary, middle, and high school as well as community theatre groups.
