Racism, homophobia and self-hatred seethe through Island City Stage's world premiere of Andrew Kramer's political mystery thriller, Armature, debuting on January 27. Prior to its opening, the award-winning theatre company invites the community to take part in its second Behind the Red Curtain free public forum entitled “Bias and Racism in Our Culture – How do we evolve?” at its theatre.

Diversity. Scandal. Mystery. Truth. The Twentieth Century Way by Tom Jacobson, a historical little-known chapter in Southern California history, returns in dramatic form from October 1 – 31, LGBT+ History Month, to kick off Island City Stage's 10th Anniversary 2021-22 South Florida Season.

This gripping period drama which launched the theatre company's award-winning run in 2012 recounts the true story of two actors who hired themselves out to the Long Beach Police Department in 1914 to entrap 'social vagrants.” 

Island City Stage, creating quality professional theatrical experiences focused on the LGBT+ community for a universal audience, will host their very own Behind the Red Curtain community forum entitled “Law Enforcement and the LGBT+ Community – Where are we today?” on Tuesday, September 14, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., at its theatre (2304 N. Dixie Highway in Wilton Manors).

In celebration of the return of live theater to South Florida, the Silver Palm Awards will be presented this fall with an event that's bigger and more glamorous than ever.

Island City Stage is reaching a milestone in its upcoming 2021-2022 season as it celebrates its 10th Anniversary. The new season begins with a revival of the very first play they produced and continues their tradition of presenting a combination of new work and classics, hilarious comedy and cathartic drama.

Island City Stage's Artistic Director Andy Rogow recently provided a video update on what's happening at the theatre as they prepare to open season 9.

Island City Stage has announced that it will be re-opening with a new season beginning this coming October. 

'We all use each other and that's what we think of as love.' 

With many performances already sold out, Island City Stage has extended it's run of the musical 'Altar Boyz' through February 23.

 Funding Arts Broward (FAB!), a nonprofit volunteer-based arts organization committed to supporting, sustaining and enriching the arts in Broward County, presented its Fall Luncheon on October 15 at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts' Mary N. Porter Riverview Ballroom. Attendees enjoyed a celebration of the arts featuring an engaging presentation, “Island City Stage: Our Lives, Our Stories,” by guest speaker Martin Childers, managing director of Island City Stage. Island City Stage is an organization creating quality theatrical experiences that focus on the LGBTQ community but have a heart and soul that is truly universal.
