In similar fashion to the hit musical 'Wicked', playwright Andrew Bergh's 'The Radicalization of Rolfe' imagines the secret story of Rolfe from 'The Sound of Music' and his activities when not pursuing Liesl Von Trapp. Intrigue pervades the Von Trapp household as the lives of Rolfe, the housekeeper Frau Schmidt, the butler Franz and Rolfe's 'friend' Johan get swept into the dark forces perpetrated by Herr Zeller and the approaching Nazi anschluss.

Is it acceptable for a married woman to make love to a preacher, a car salesman and a mysterious hotel guest who keeps changing his identity? And, if a bellman has an affair with a guest, is it reasonable to still expect a tip?

Island City Stage's hit musical 'Zanna Don't' has been extended through Feb. 18. The additional performances will be Thursday-Saturday at 8:00 and Sunday at 7:00pm.

South Florida playwright-actor-director Michael Leeds' latest work, 'STARMAKER,' tells the true story of Hollywood super-agent Henry Willson and his relationship with his super-client Rock Hudson, as told by Henry himself, accompanied by a Greek chorus of his other famous clients.

The joyous and gleeful musical 'Zanna Don't' bounds its way into Island City Stage to ring in the New Year with heart and hope. With book, music and lyrics by Tim Acito (with additional book and lyrics by Alexander Dinelaris, a former Barry University student) the musical became a surprise Off Broadway hit in 2003 and made a star out of Jai Rodriguez, who went on to be a regular on the popular tv series Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.

Island City Stage opens it sixth season with Taylor Mac's 'audatious and uproarious'(NY Times) comedy Hir.

'Zsa Zsa Gabor is my muse this year!,' says award-winning South Florida playwright Tony Finstrom. 'After doing some extensive reading-up on her, I've learned she was not only beautiful and glamorous, but also extremely naive, innocent, pure, and honest. And I've fallen in love!'

Chosen by The New York Times as one of the 10 best plays of 2015, Hir (pronounced 'here') stars Carbonell Award-winning actress Mia Matthews, and features Island City Stage veterans Daniel Capote and Larry Buzzeo. Making his South Florida debut is transgender actor Jacob Michael DeStefano. The production is being directed by Island City Stage Artistic Director Andy Rogow.

Single tickets to the four staged play readings at Lynn University comprising 'Jan McArt's New Play Readings' series for 2017-18 are now on sale to the general public, at the price of $10 each.

Island City Stage continues it's season with the debut of  Stuart Meltzer's smart and sophisticated semi-autobiographical comedy 'The Goldberg Variations' running June 15 - July 16.

There's a playwright missing in action this week at Boca Raton's Lynn University where, on Monday, 'Jan McArt's New Play Readings' series will present a staged reading of Michael McKeever's latest work, 'THE CAMP.'
