Trish Santini, Peter Flynn and Frank Butler announced today the formation of their new company Mainspring Arts Cooperative (MAC), a not-for-profit organization that will produce and present productions that can tour regional theaters nationwide.

Primary Stages hosted its 2016 Gala celebrating the Horton Foote Centennial last night, October 17, 2016 at 6:30 pm at 583 Park Avenue. The even twas chaired by CharLes Davis, HAllie Foote, David Richenthal and Michael Wilson, and featured performances and tributes by Elizabeth Ashley, Harriet Harris, Jayne Houdyshell, Estelle Parsons (pictured, left) and Molly Ringwald. Honorary co-chairs for the event include Matthew Broderick, Robert and Luciana Duvall, James Earl Jones and Cicely Tyson. Scroll down for photos from the festivities!

Rushmore: The Fifth Man, a play by Rose-Marie Brandwein will be presented in staged reading format on Thursday November 3rd at Polaris North (245 W. 29th Street) starting at 7PM.

Horton Foote's The Roads To Home opened last night at the Cherry Lane Theatre and Broadwayworld was there for the festivities.  The Roads To Home is a Primary Stages production in association with Catherine Adler and Jamie deRoy. It's run has been extended throughSunday, November 27, 2016.

The Off Broadway Alliance, the organization of Off Broadway producers, theaters, general managers, press agents and marketing professionals, presented the 6th annual Off Broadway Alliance Awards on June 21st at Sardi's, honoring outstanding achievement in Off Broadway theatre for the 2015 - 2016 season. Honorees were on hand to receive their awards and Anne Jackson & Eli Wallach, Anne Meara, and Elizabeth Swados were posthumously inducted into the Off Broadway Hall of Fame. Perry-Mansfield has announced the full lineup for their 2016 New Works Festival. The 19th Annual festival, held on June 10 and 11 in Steamboat Springs, CO will develop five new works in partnership with the Actors Theatre of Louisville, the Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DCPA) Theatre Company, The Lark, Primary Stages, and South Coast Repertory.
