Chance Theater Extends BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON Through 8/11
Chance Theater is proud to announce that its critically lauded and sold-out run of Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson will be adding six performances, closing August 11, 2013.
Part history, part rock concert, and part SNL sketch comedy satire, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson reimagines and reinvents the life of "Old Hickory" from childhood to maverick president. We are reconfiguring our theater into a grungy Wild West tavern for this fiery musical, and it features many of the artists from last season's hit musical West Side Story. This hard-rocking and hilarious new show follows our seventh Commander-In-Chief as he kicks British butt, shafts the Indians, and smacks down the Spaniards, all in the name of these United States. You'll never view the game of politics the same again.
"Bloody bloody MAGNIFICENT... This sublimely raucous take on Alex Timbers and Michael Friedman's savage emo rock evisceration of American politics via the seventh president of the United States is an in-your-face triumph." -- Los Angeles Times, Critic's Choice
" From the get-go, director Kari Hayter's staging is a raucous, freewheeling affair given full-on rock-concert treatment by musical director and onstage keyboardist Robyn Wallace" -- The Orange County Register
"Wildly FUNNY... No doubt one of the most exciting, edgy, in-your-face new musicals to have popped up in recent years, the electrically-transfused angst-rock musical Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson is making quite a splashy, enjoyable Orange County debut at---where else---but Chance Theater, which continues to solidify itself as OC's home for eye-opening, entertaining smaller shows with cult followings." -- Broadway World
Executive Producers for Chance Theater's production of Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson are Scott and Georgia Well. They are joined by Associate Executive Producers, Larry and Sophie Cripe.
