Syracuse Stage begins its new season with the enthralling play of The Three Musketeers. The production marks the directorial debut of Syracuse Stage's Artistic Director Robert Hupp, and it's a good one. The swashbuckling adventure is packed with sword fighting, dramatic entrances, gorgeous period costumes, original music compositions, impressive sets, and highly talented actors.

Artistic director Bob Hupp makes his directorial debut as Syracuse Stage opens the 17/18 season with the swashbuckling adventure "The Three Musketeers". This action-packed adaptation of Alexandre Dumas' 1844 classic novel opens Friday, Sept. 22 in the Archbold Theatre at the Syracuse Stage/SU Drama Complex, 820 E. Genesee St. There will be preview performances Wednesday, Sept. 20 and Thursday, Sept. 21.  

Syracuse Stage opened its 44th season with Gale Childs Daly's adaptation of Charles Dickens' masterpiece GREAT EXPECTATIONS, brilliantly directed by Michael Bloom. The production is humorous, fast-paced, and very easy to follow regardless of familiarity with the novel.

Salty Brine announces the premiere of a new a cappella cabaret, Givin' Up Your Heart, as the next installment in his series, Salty Brine's Spectacular Living Record Collection Cabaret.  Salty Brine's Spectacular Living Record Collection Cabaret, which performs on Wednesdays as part of Brine's residency at The Red Room (85 E. 4th St.), explores a different iconic album each month in a live cabaret setting.  Givin' Up Your Heart, inspired by Adele's hit album 21, will run on October 7, 14, 21 and 28 with doors opening at 7:30pm and shows beginning at 8:00pm.

Abundance, now playing at the Beckett Theatre, was commissioned in 1989 and is based on true life stories of pioneering women . . . Clearly well researched, Abundance manages to feel both intimate and sweeping . . . Director Jenn Thompson makes one feel like a voyeur. When unexpressed, emotions are evident, when manifest, frequently physically, they're visceral. Characters are defined by carriage as well as dialogue and allotted time to think. Outbursts are never too big to be credible. The stage and minimal set are well used.

Pioneer Theatre Company presents the world premiere of Alabama Story by Kenneth Jones, January 9 - 24, 2015. The play was workshopped in Pioneer Theatre Company's new play reading series, Play-by-Play, last season. The play-a finalist in the 2014 National Playwrights Conference-coincides with the 50th anniversaries of the Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights Act.

Accidental Shakespeare Company presents the 11th show of their Hit & Run Shakespeare Series: CYMBELINE tonight, January 4th, 2014 at Speyer Hall - University Settlement - 184 Eldridge St. in NYC. The cast shall include: Trey K. Blackburn, Seth Andrew Bridges*, Stacey Bone-Gleason*, Christopher Gebauer, Ross Hamman, John Hardin, Dan de Jesus, Whit Leyenberger, Nick Martorelli, Rachel Ritacco, Calaine Schafer, Kim Wong* and Kelly Zekas.

Today, Accidental Shakespeare Company has announced the cast for the upcoming production. The cast shall include: Trey K. Pipeline Theatre Company in association with Theater for the New City and Crystal Field (Artistic Director) are set to present GIANT KILLER SLUGS from August 22 through September 2 at Theater for the New City's Johnson Theater (155 First Ave) as part of the Dream Up Festival. It is written by Colby Day and will be directed by Daniel Johnsen.
