Ghostlight Records has announced it will record the New York City Center production of Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe's musical Brigadoon, for a new cast recording to be released this fall. Brigadoon has book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe. Starring Kelli O'Hara, Patrick Wilson and Stephanie J. Block, the show features The Encores! GHOSTLIGHT RECORDS has announced it will record the New York City Center (Arlene Shuler, New York City Center President & CEO) production of Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe's musical Brigadoon, for a new cast recording to be released this fall. Brigadoon has book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe. Starring Kelli O'Hara, Patrick Wilson and Stephanie J. Block, the show features The Encores! Orchestra, led by Music Director Rob Berman. The Annual Gala Production was directed and choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon, with Jack Viertel serving as artistic advisor. The album is being produced by Kurt Deutsch, Lawrence Manchester, Rob Berman and Emily Altman.

The New York Society Library presents a new chamber musical based on Euripides' The Trojan Women on Monday, January 22, at 6pm. With libretto by Ellen McLaughlin and music by Sarah Taylor Ellis, The Trojan Women will be directed by Rachel Dickstein and music directed by Mila Henry.

Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff, Artistic Producer) will present Bread and Roses, with book & lyrics by Jill Abramovitz and music by Brad Alexander, the third and final offering of Dare To Be Different, the previously announced series of new musicals and one-night only special events being held at A.R.T./New York Theatres (502 West 53rd Street 10th Avenue & 53rd Street). The Golden Apple stars Mikaela Bennett (Penelope), Jeff Blumenkrantz (Menelaus/Scylla), Ashley Brown (Mrs. Juniper/Madame Calypso), Carrie Compere (Lovey Mars/The Siren), Barton Cowperthwaite (Paris), Jason Kravits (Hector Charybdis), Alli Mauzey(Miss Minerva Oliver/The Scientist), Lindsay Mendez (Helen), N'Kenge (Mother Hare/Circe), and Ryan Silverman (Ulysses).

Encores! Artistic Director Jack Viertel today announced casting for the Encores! production of The Golden Apple, John Latouche and Jerome Moross' cult classic.

VIVIAN REED - the two-time Tony Award-nominated Broadway star and concert artist called "remarkable and ferocious" by The New York Times and "a force of nature" by The New York Post - will return with her acclaimed concert "Standards and More" at The Metropolitan Room on Thursday,July 21 at 7:00 PM. Special guests for this show will be soprano Andrea Jones-Sojola, who appeared on Broadway in The Gershwins' Porgy & Bess, and theater and nightclub star Raun Ruffin, who appeared in The Civil War. The show was recently extended through this fall and Reed will also perform at The Metropolitan Room on September 26 and November 10, backed by a four-piece band led by Billy McDaniel. The evening includes unique arrangements of classic standards by Duke Ellington, Rodgers & Hart, Cole Porter and George Gershwin in a dazzling blend of pop, jazz, soul and R&B. A recent rave review from BroadwayWorld.com praises "the profound originality of Reed's arrangements and interpretations. Reed dives headlong into the songs and emerges with something entirely new, fresh and hers."

On February 16, Manhattan Concert Productions brought the Drama Desk and Tony Award-winning score of PARADE back to Lincoln Center. PARADE was brought to life for one night only at Avery Fisher Hall. Three-time Tony Award winner and original composer Jason Robert Brown conducted a star-studded cast and full chorus, joined by Olivier Award nominee Gary Griffin as director, and Tom Murray as music supervisor.
