Breaking: Stockard Channing Will Reprise Role in APOLOGIA in Roundabout's Fall Season

New York City staple Roundabout Theatre Company has just announced that Tony & Emmy Award winner Stockard Channing will return to the New York stage in the Off-Broadway premiere of APOLOGIA, by Alexi Kaye Campbell (The Pride). APOLOGIA will be directed by three-time Obie Award winner Daniel Aukin (Bad Jews, Skintight). Channing returns to the role of "Kristin" in Apologia following an acclaimed run in London's West End in 2017.

Lincoln Center Theater Extends ADMISSIONS

Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of Andre Bishop) has extended the run of its critically acclaimed production of ADMISSIONS, a new play by Joshua Harmon, directed by Daniel Aukin, through Sunday, May 6 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater (150 West 65 Street).

Claire has a rare form of psychogenic amnesia that erases her memory whenever she goes to sleep. This morning, like all mornings, she wakes up a blank slate. Her chipper husband comes in with a cup of coffee, explains her condition, hands her a book filled with all sorts of essential information, and he disappears into the shower. A limping, lisping, half-blind, half-deaf man in a ski mask pops out from under her bed and claims to be her brother, there to save her.

Geffen Playhouse Announces Cast for SIGNIFICANT OTHER

The Geffen Playhouse today announced the full cast for its production of Joshua Harmon's (Bad Jews) critically-acclaimed hit play, Significant Other, directed by Stephen Brackett. The cast features Melanie Field (Paramount Network's Heathers) as Laura, Vella Lovell (CW's Crazy Ex-Girlfriend) as Vanessa, Preston Martin as Zach/Evan/Roger, Keilly McQuail (Amazon's The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) as Kiki, John Garet Stoker (CBS's Code Black) as Will/Conrad/Tony, Concetta Tomei (Deep Impact) as Helene Berman and Will Von Vogt as Jordan Berman.

Second Thought Theatre Announces Area Premiere of EMPATHITRAX

Second Thought Theatre continues its 2018 season by reuniting Jenny Ledel and Drew Wall for the area premiere of Empathitrax by Ana Nogueira. Wall and Ledel previously starred opposite each other in Second Thought's 2015 hit Belleville by Amy Herzog. Carson McCain returns to direct after previously directing The Great God Pan (2016) and assistant directing Belleville and Booth. This year she directs "a compassionate, humorous, and unflinchingly honest portrait of a relationship that dares to test the limits of intimacy." Empathitrax begins with previews on Wednesday, April 4 and runs through Saturday, April 28. All performances of Empathitrax will take place at Bryant Hall on the Kalita Humphreys Campus, 3636 Turtle Creek Blvd. Tickets to Empathitrax can be purchased online at secondthoughttheatre.com.

Previews Begin This Friday For THIS FLAT EARTH At Playwrights Horizons

Previews begin this Friday, March 16 for the Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) world premiere production of THIS FLAT EARTH, a new play by Lindsey Ferrentino (Ugly Lies the Bone, the current Amy and the Orphans).  Directed by Tony Award winner Rebecca Taichman (Familiar, Stage Kiss, Milk Like Sugar at Playwrights; Indecent), the play is the fourth production of the theater company's 2017/2018 Season.  

Ran Xia's ECHO To Play The Tank

The Tank (Meghan Finn and Rosalind Grush, Artistic Directors) will present The Arctic Group's ECHO, written and audio designed by Ran Xia and directed by Nicholas Orvis at The Tank (312 West 36th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues) April 12-21. The Tank (Meghan Finn and Rosalind Grush, Artistic Directors), The Renovationists, and Parity Productions will co-present the World Premiere of Corbin Went's OLD NAMES FOR WILDFLOWERS, directed by Emma Rosa Went at The Tank (312 West 36th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues), May 11-25. Performances will be Friday, May 11 at 8pm, Saturday, May 12 at 8pm, Sunday, May 13 at 7pm, Thursday, May 17 at 8pm, Friday, May 18 at 8pm, Saturday, May 19 at 8pm, Sunday, May 20 at 7pm, Wednesday, May 23 at 8pm, Thursday, May 24 at 8pm, and Friday, May 25 at 8pm. New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) (Artistic Director James C. Nicola and Managing Director Jeremy Blocker) is proud to announce a two-week extension for the World Premiere of AN ORDINARY MUSLIM, by NYTW Usual Suspect and 2017-18 Tow Foundation Playwright-in-Residence Hammaad Chaudry (Salaam, Mr. Bush), directed by NYTW Usual Suspect and Obie Award winner Jo Bonney (The Body of An American).
