Actress Sheridan Smith will depart the West End's LEGALLY BLONDE on October 23, whatsonstage.com reports. Smith, who plays Elle Woods, made the announcement via her twitter account. As previously reported on BroadwayWorld, Jennifer Ellison is being considered to replaced Smith; however, no official announcement has been made.

The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Andrew D. Hamingson) and LAByrinth Theater Company (Artistic Directors Stephen Adly Guirgis, Mimi O'Donnell, Yul Vázquez; Managing Director Danny Feldman) announced today that Tony Award winner Anna D. Shapiro (August: Osage County) will direct the world premiere of Stephen Adly Guirgis' THE MOTHERF**KER WITH THE HAT, scheduled to begin performances Spring 2011.

Artists Repertory Theatre and Sydney Theatre Company bring the world-class production of Long Day's Journey Into Night to Portland, Oregon beginning August 13, 2010. The stellar reviews from the smash hit premiere run in Sydney, Australia are now available.

A trailer recently premiered for the Philip Seymour Hoffman-helmed 'Jack Goes Boating.' As previously reported by BroadwayWorld, Hoffman is making his directing debut with the Overture Films picture, an adaptation of Bob Glaudini's Off-Broadway play. Actress Jennifer Ellison is in 'talks and talks' to take on the role of Elle Woods in the West End production of LEGALLY BLONDE, The Daily Mail's Baz Bamigboye reports. Ellison would replace Sheridan Smith, who is currently playing the role and is to leave in September or October.

Actor Mark Rylance, who will be in the upcoming revival of David Hirson's La Bête at the Comedy Theatre, visited the theatre's current exhibition, 'Recycled Comedy.' Rylance will be starring in La Bête alongside Joanna Lumley and David Hyde Pierce at the Comedy Theatre from 26 June until 4 September.

Fleeshman takes over the role of Warner Huntington III from Duncan James whose final performance will be 14 June 2010. Legally Blonde The Musical, which opened at the Savoy Theatre earlier this year, is currently booking until 20 February 2011.
