Here are a few folks that could hold a record for the 'number of hats' they've worn on Broadway shows. Micki Grant, Composer, Playwright and Performer, Has Died at Age 92

With the long-running Don’t Bother Me, I Can’t Cope, in which she also starred, she became the first woman to win a Grammy Award for the score of a Broadway musical. She also received Tony nominations for book, music, and lyrics. Another Grammy nomination for the score (with Alex Bradford) of Your Arms Too Short to Box with God followed, as well as another Tony nomination for the score of Working.

Broadway Casting Director Jay Binder Steps Down From Binder Casting

Legendary Broadway casting director Jay Binder is stepping down from his company Binder Casting. Jay Binder has cast over 70 Broadway productions, including the Tony Award winning productions of The Lion King, A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder, Dames At Sea, Nice Work If You Can Get It, Gypsy, The King and I, Lost in Yonkers and more.

Actors' Equity Invites Nominations for the 2018 Rosetta LeNoire Award

Actors' Equity Association has issued a call for nominations for the Rosetta LeNoire Award. The honor, named for the noted actor and theatrical producer Rosetta LeNoire, is given in recognition of outstanding artistic contributions made by either an individual or institution to the universality of the human experience in the American theatre. 

Lorraine Hansberry Awards to Honor Five Native Chicagoans

On May 24, The Lorraine Hansberry Awards, presented by Goodman Theatre Resident Director Chuck Smith and Woodie King, Jr., New Federal Theatre Artistic Director, will honor five women: Micki Grant, Lynn Hamilton, Shauneille Perry, Dr. Glory Van Scott and Camille Yarbrough.

Weston Playhouse Theatre Company Receives 2015 Rosetta LeNoire Award from AEA

Last weekend in New York, Weston Playhouse Producing Artistic Director Steve Stettler accepted the 2015 Rosetta LeNoire Award from the Actors' Equity Association. The award, named after noted actor and producer Rosetta LeNoire, is given in recognition of outstanding artistic contributions that highlight the universality of the human spirit through diversity in casting and programming, and for commitment to cultivating new works by writers of all ages and cultural backgrounds.

AEA Now Accepting 2014 Rosetta LeNoire Award Nominations

Nominations are being accepted through Friday, February 14, 2014 for Actors' Equity Association's annual Rosetta LeNoire Award. The award, established in 1988, recognizes an individual or institution that has made outstanding contributions to American theater while also holding an exemplary record in hiring or promoting ethnic minorities, female actors, senior actors and actors with disabilities. Nominees must have a working relationship (and history) with Equity.

Philadelphia’s InterAct Theatre Company Receives AEA’s Rosetta LeNoire Award

InterAct Theatre Company, an Actors' Equity Small Professional Theatre in Philadelphia, PA, has been named the recipient of AEA's prestigious 2012 Rosetta LeNoire Award. The Award will be presented to InterAct's Founding/Producing Director Seth Rozin at Association's Eastern Regional Membership meeting on Friday April 13, 2012 in New York City.

Actors' Equity Association Accepting Nominations for Rosetta LeNoire Award Through 2/11

Actors' Equity Association's National Equal Employment Opportunity Committee is now accepting nominations for the 2011 Rosetta LeNoire Award. The deadline for nominations is Friday, February 11, 2011. Created in 1988 and named in honor of the noted actress and producer Rosetta LeNoire, the award will be presented at the annual Equity Membership Meeting in April.
