Musical Theatre Factory Stages Developmental Presentations of New Electronic Dance Musical NIKOLA TESLA DROPS THE BEAT

Musical Theatre Factory (MTF) has announced that it will stage four developmental presentations of Nikko Benson and Benjamin Halstead's NIKOLA TESLA DROPS THE BEAT, an electronic dance musical about history's most overlooked inventor. The first of seven developmental presentations of the 2016 - 2017 season, the production is directed by Marshall Pailet, features musical direction by Madeline Smith, choreography by Maxx Reed and dramaturgy by Jeffrey Stoller. Presentations are on Sept 30th at 3pm & 7pm and Oct 1st at 2pm & 7pm at Playwrights Horizons South Room, 416 West 42nd Street, 4th Floor. Running time is 75 minutes. Tickets are $18 and available at www.mtf.nyc

Musical Theatre Factory (MTF) will present Heath Saunders in concert at Joe's Pub featuring special guests Jason Gotay (Bring it On: The Musical), F. Michael Haynie (Wicked), Ashley Perez-Flanagan (Natasha, Pierre, & The Great Comet of 1812), Ally Bonino (Nikola Tesla Drops the Beat at MTF), Nikko Benson (Nikola Tesla Drops the Beat at MTF), and Trent Saunders (Aladdin) on May 9 at 9:30 p.m. at Joe's Pub. The Legend of New York, with music by Joshua Salzman and book and lyrics by Ryan Cunningham, is a Sodom and Gomorrah story set during the 1977 New York City blackout. An angel appears to a NYC cop and sends him on a quest to find three souls worth saving by sunrise or else the city will be destroyed. This funk-infused new musical celebrates '70s New York in all its grungy glory-taking you from Central Park to Times Square to CBGBs to, of course, the legendary Studio 54.
