Primary Stages announced today that its 2018 Gala will take place on Monday, October 29, 2018 at 6:30 pm. The event, which will be held at Tribeca 360º (10 Desbrosses Street), will honor Tony nominees Rebecca Luker (Mary Poppins, The Music Man) and Danny Burstein (Fiddler on the Roof, South Pacific); Eleanor Holtzman, trailblazing marketing executive and Primary Stages Board Member; and Jose M. Toro, Senior Director, Commercial Management, LeFrak Property Management.

Ben Rimalower will celebrate the recent release of his plays PATTI ISSUES and BAD WITH MONEY by Roven Records on Audible.com with a special performance BAD WITH MONEY at The Green Room 42 on Saturday, August 18 and a double bill of PATTI ISSUES and BAD WITH MONEY at Penguin Rep on Sunday, August 19. In Patti Issues, Rimalower explores the ways his lifelong obsession (and eventual working friendship) with Patti LuPone helped him navigate a tumultuous relationship with his volatile father. Since premiering in 2012, Patti Issues has garnered a tremendous amount of great press and word-of-mouth from attendees such as Tony Kushner, Alan Cumming, Laurie Metcalf and Ms. LuPone herself, who said, "The show's fantastic. It's really wonderful. I was moved." Patti Issues is directed by Aaron Mark (Empanada Loca with Daphne Rubin-Vega, Squeamish With Alison Fraser).

A twisted love story and courtroom madness set to a rocking soundtrack of original songs, are just a few key ingredients in filmmaker Luke Shirock's ambitious crowd pleasing musical escapade, Tommy Battles The Silver Dragon. The film will make its East Coast Premiere at the Brooklyn Film Festival on Saturday, June 2nd at 7PM.

In 2007, Peter Michael Marino wrote the musical version of the Madonna movie 'Desperately Seeking Susan' featuring the hit songs of Blondie. The mega-musical opened on London's West End...and closed a month later. WHOOPS! 'Desperately Seeking the Exit' is Pete's critically acclaimed true story of the making and unmaking of his notorious flop that played everywhere from the USA, to the UK, to Australia. At this special reading, the show gets a new twist as his roller coaster tale is joined by the talents of chanteuse/impressionist Christina Bianco, Time Out NY Theater Critic Adam Feldman, Broadway/solo star Alison Fraser, Classical Theatre of Harlem's Ty Jones, noted storyteller David Lawson, and solo star Amy Marcs.

'A Blanket of Dust' is the story of a modern day Antigone.  The daughter of a U.S. Senator seeks justice for her husband, who has died in the World Trade Center. Her ordeal drives her to the outer fringes of society.  After struggling to establish facts that the government, the media, her family and her countrymen deny, she protests with a harrowing act of sacrificial tragedy.  The play's world premiere will be presented Off-Broadway by Delphi Film from June 6 to 30 at The Flea Theater Mainstage,  20 Thomas Street, directed by Chris Murrah.

Audiences have started to listen again at Studio 54. That's because Children of a Lesser God is back, and it officially opened last night on Broadway. Directed by Tony Award winner Kenny Leon, Children of a Lesser God stars film and television favorite Joshua Jackson and breakout star Lauren Ridloff, alongside Emmy Award winner and Golden Globe Award winner Anthony Edwards, Drama Desk Award nominee and Obie Award winner Kecia Lewis, Julee Cerda, Treshelle Edmond, and John McGinty. Blake Allen, known for his innovative bridging of contemporary music and theater through composition, is committed to honoring and educating audiences about the music of New York and America from the early-mid part of the 20th century by celebrating them today with celebrated contemporary voices through the "An Evening With…" series. The Green Room 42 Presents: An Evening With... Mary Martin, curated and orchestrated by Blake Allen is the second installment of this important series, and will take place on April 13 at 7:00 p.m. inside the Times Square Yotel.

George Street Playhouse has announced that its Annual Gala Benefit - a one-of-a-kind evening featuring stars of Broadway, film and television - will take place Sunday, May 6, 2018, 5 p.m., at The Heldrich Hotel in New Brunswick. This year, George Street Playhouse celebrates the Arthur Laurents Centennial - a tribute to the playwright on what would have been his 100th birthday - and honors Dr. Penelope Lattimer, the Playhouse's current Board President, with the Thomas H. Kean Arts Advocacy Award.

This year's gala was geared toward raising funds for GTG's full production of Shaw's masterpiece, Heartbreak House, which will run in New York's Theatre Row on 42nd Street from August 28 through September 29th.

Just last night, the Signature Theatre held its Annual Gala at The Pershing Square Signature Center (located at 480 West 42nd Street between 9th & 10th Avenues). The event celebrated the late Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Edward Albee and honored the passionate and visionary leadership of former President of the Signature Board of Trustees, Michael Rauch.
