According to Variety, ABC and Dick Clark Productions are partnering to create a live, televised version of the popular For the Record, an immersive production that celebrates the soundtracks of legendary filmmakers in a live theatrical experience. The production has gained a large cult following in L.A and the growth of the production seen since it opened in an East Hollywood bar in 2010, combined with the surge in popularity of live TV musicals, has inspired the team to create a film version of the event.

Nominations for the 2016 Fred and Adele Astaire Awards, which honor outstanding dance and choreography on stage and screen, were announced just yesterday at the Friar's Club by New York Post columnist Michael Riedel. For the first time, the Fred and Adele Astaire Awards have explored recognizing excellence in dance, movement, and choreography off-Broadway. Twenty eligible shows in the non-profit and commercial off-Broadway arenas met the eligibility requirements and were considered.

Tony Award-winner Lena Hall (Hedwig and the Angry Inch) will lead an industry reading of Citizen Ruth: An American Musical Comedy in New York City on Thursday, March 10, 2016. Based on the Miramax film, screenplay by Alexander Payne and Jim Taylor, Citizen Ruth features a book and lyrics by Mark Leydorf and music by Michael Brennan. The invite-only reading will precede an anticipated Off-Broadway run this summer.
