It was a big year for Broadway newbies! From young newcomers to seasoned Hollywood stars, Broadway welcomed many new faces to the family in 2014. Many earned critical acclaim, a brand-new fanbase, and some even walked away with Tony nominations (and awards)! Below, BroadwayWorld celebrates just a few of our favorite new stage stars!

Screen Actors Guild Foundation and Broadway World have partnered for an inaugural filmed Conversations Q&A series to recognize and celebrate the vibrant theatre community in New York City and the actors who aspire to have a career on the stage and screen. We are thrilled to present this event in partnership with the New School for Drama. Please join us for a Conversations with the cast of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, Alex Sharp,Taylor Trensch, Francesca Faridany, Ian Barford, Enid Graham, and Helen Carey, and moderated by Broadway World's Richard Ridge of 'Backstage with Richard Ridge!'

This year's nominees for dance are Harrison Ball of New York City Ballet, Christopher Bloom of Ballet Hispanico, Russell Janzen of New York City Ballet, and Bevon Teuscher of American Ballet Theatre.

The 26th annual edition of Gypsy of the Year raised a record-breaking $5,229,611 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, thanks to six weeks of fundraising by 64 Broadway, Off-Broadway and national touring companies. The grand total was announced Tuesday, December 9, 2014, by special guests Hugh Jackman, Nathan Lane and Judith Light after two stellar performances of original dances, songs and skits by more than 200 'gypsies' from Broadway and Off-Broadway shows. The 26th annual edition of Gypsy of the Year, to be presented today, December 8 (4:30 PM) and tomorrow, December 9 (2 PM) at the New Amsterdam Theatre (214 West 42nd Street, NYC), will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the groundbreaking musical The Wiz and feature performances by the uber-talented 'gypsies' of 12 Broadway and Off-Broadway shows.

The Clive Barnes Foundation just announced nominees their fifth annual Clive Barnes Award for young performers.
