A new work by writer Alex Martinez that delves into the mind of a man haunted by fears that he may be a potential child abuser is to receive its world premier at Hackney Empire this spring. Eric Godber is a decent man plagued by a shocking obsession. As its power over him becomes increasingly irresistible, a woman fights to help him break free. The action is a battle of wits between a white middle-aged professional and a younger black therapist. To penetrate the walls of protection that Eric has built around himself, Dr Chase pushes them both to the limit - a provocative line of attack that threatens to unleash a violent reaction.
