The NOLA Project, an ensemble-based theatre company focused on presenting new and classic works of theatre often with large casts in unique and immersive settings throughout the city of New Orleans, announces its 15th Anniversary Season: This Way to Adventure. For its 15th Season, the company will present four exciting and provocative plays, three of which are world premieres.

What else would/could a cutting edge theatre company who is known for occasionally pushing the envelope invite its audience members to experience other than a perfectly dystopian and a hilariously dark musical about a town whose residents must pay to pee? This past weekend was the second in a three week run of Stephen Schwartz's PIPPIN at Le Petit Theatre du Vieux Carre. The show opened their 2016-2017 season in Le Petit's 100th year, which is something to celebrate in and of itself. New Orleans is full of history and Le Petit has certainly been a wonderful part of that history for a whole century! So before I go any further… congratulations to the Le Petit family, and happy 100th birthday!

Ten clowns walk into a bar. This is not a joke. This is the premise of Adam Szymkowicz's new noir comedy "Clown Bar", brought to life at the Little Gem Saloon by New Orleans based independent theatre company, The NOLA Project. A script that truly bends genres, "Clown Bar" combines the melodramatic acting of classic film noir, the intensity and action of a Quentin Tarantino movie, and good ole' fashioned circus slapstick.

A cast of twelve actors will transform themselves into nearly 100 characters in Peter and the Starcatcher, ('Starcatcher'), the second production this season from Le Petit Theatre du Vieux Carre. The Tony Award-winning Starcatcher opened on Broadway just over two years ago and has been described as a 'wildly theatrical, hilarious and innovative retelling of how a miserable orphan came to be the boy who never grew up.'

As the first of five productions in its 10th anniversary season, local independent theatre company, The NOLA Project, will present the stage adaptation of the classic story, 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest' at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts. Based on the seminal 1960s novel by Ken Kesey, 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest' left an indelible mark on the literature, theatre, and film of our time.
