National Theatre's Original Stage Production of WAR HORSE Heads to U.S. Theaters Today

Fathom Events, National Theatre Live (NT Live) and BY Experience have come together again to broadcast the National Theatre's original stage production of 'War Horse,' pre-recorded live from London's West End, for only one night in cinemas across the country tonight, Feb. 27 at 7:00 p.m. local time. Based on Michael Morpurgo's novel and adapted for the stage by Nick Stafford, 'War Horse' takes audiences on a journey from the fields of rural Devon to the trenches of France during World War I. Filled with stirring music and songs, this powerfully moving and imaginative drama is a show of phenomenal inventiveness. At its heart are astonishing life-size puppets by South Africa's Handspring Puppet Company, who bring breathing, galloping, charging horses to life on stage.

National Theatre Live Broadcast of WAR HORSE to Screen at NYC's Ziegfeld Theatre, 2/27

Fathom Events, National Theatre Live (NT Live) and BY Experience have come together again to broadcast the National Theatre's original stage production of 'War Horse,' pre-recorded live from London's West End, for only one night in cinemas across the country on Thursday, February 27. For the first time ever, a broadcast from National Theatre Live will be shown at New York City's legendary Ziegfeld Theatre (141 West 54th Street) on February 27th at 7:00 p.m. The broadcast can also be seen in New York at Cinema 123 (1001 3rd Avenue) with encore dates/times to follow.

National Theatre Live's OTHELLO, MACBETH and More Set for Ridgefield Playhouse, Oct 2013

Three award-winning plays will be broadcast Live in HD from Britain's National Theatre to The Ridgefield Playhouse in October. First up is Othello today, October 15, followed by Macbeth on Monday, the 21st, and Frankenstein on, very fittingly, Thursday, October 31, all at 6:30 p.m. The NTL in HD series brings the best of British theatre live to cinemas worldwide.

National Theatre Live To Broadcast Branagh-Led MACBETH in Manila, 10/22

National Theatre Live, U.K.'s National Theatre's cinema screenings of its live performances across the U.K. and the world, in cooperation with the British Embassy in Manila and SM Aura Premier Cinema in Bonifacio Global City, will hold a special screening of Manchester International Festival's new production of William Shakespeare's 'Macbeth,' starring Kenneth Branagh playing the title role, on Tuesday, October 22, at 6 p.m.

Helen Mirren, Benedict Cumberbatch & Christopher Eccleston Join LIVE FROM THE NATIONAL THEATRE: 50 YEARS ON STAGE; to be Broadcast in Theaters on Nov. 2

Helen Mirren, Benedict Cumberbatch and Christopher Eccleston have joined the starry cast for the National Theatre of Great Britain's 50th anniversary celebration "LIVE FROM THE NATIONAL THEATRE: 50 YEARS ON STAGE," directed by Nicholas Hytner. This special event will be broadcast by National Theatre Live to cinemas internationally on Saturday, November 2, 2013 (with many encore dates in U.S. cities). From Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead to The History Boys, from Antony and Cleopatra to Angels in America, from Guys and Dolls to London Road, this will be a thrilling evening of live performance and rare glimpses from the archive, featuring many of the most celebrated actors who have performed on their stages over the past five decades.

Music Box Theatre to Screen MACBETH Starring Kenneth Branagh, 10/26

Chicagoans can have the full Shakespeare experience this fall with three unique opportunities to attend viewings of Othello, Macbeth and Hamlet at the Music Box Theatre. The Music Box continues its partnership with the UK's National Theatre Live to exhibit captured live stage performances beamed to Chicago from the prestigious National Theatre in London. Macbeth brings Kenneth Branagh (My Week with Marilyn, Hamlet) back to the Shakespearean stage after a decade to perform the role of the Scottish king. Northwestern Adds WAR HORSE and More to NT Live Screening Schedule

The epic production of National Theatre's "War Horse," based on the novel by English author, poet, playwright and librettist and 2003-05 Children's Laureate Michael Morpurgo, is the latest addition to a series of hit London plays that will be broadcast this season at Northwestern University. Single tickets to "War Horse" go on sale today (Sept. 27).

Ridgefield Playhouse to Broadcast The Met's EUGENE ONEGIN, 10/5

Infatuation. Seduction. Grandeur. It's all in Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin starring diva Anna Netrebko with Mariusz Kwiecien from the Met Live in HD on Saturday, October 5, at 12:55 p.m. at The Ridgefield Playhouse.
