The McCallum Theatre's 30th Anniversary fundraising gala will be headlined by two of the McCallum Theatre's all-time favorite artists Chris Botti and The TEN Tenors in a very special performance on November 30. Proceeds from the 30th Anniversary Gala fundraising event help fund McCallum Theatre operations as well as arts education programs that bring training in theatre, dance, music and visual arts to 40,000 schoolchildren and educators each year, in more than 300 classrooms. These funds also make it possible to continue to bring world-class performances to over 150,000 residents and visitors to the Coachella Valley annually.

Presented by CAPA, the Lincoln Theatre Association, and the King Arts Complex, The Hip Hop Nutcracker is a contemporary re-imagining of Tchaikovsky's timeless music performed by a supercharged cast of a dozen all-star dancers, an on-stage DJ, and an electric violinist. Kurtis Blow, one of hip hop's founding fathers, will kick off the show with a short set and then rap the introduction.

The Ten Tenors are returning to the United States this December, for an 18-date tour of the East Coast and Midwest. The Australian vocal group, whose voices generate pure electricity and undeniable drama according to the Los Angeles Times, will be performing repertoire from their album Our Christmas Wish, which went to the upper reaches of Billboard's Classical Albums chart. Partnering with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the release raises funds for the organization that is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. The Meistersingers of Southern Lehigh High School will serve as an opening act for the evening.

Highlights of the month include multi-night runs from Jazz vocalist (and Chicago transplant) Lizz Wright (Nov. 1-2), Herb Alpert of Tijuana Brass with his wife, Grammy-winning singer Lani Hall, (Nov. 6-7), and four shows over two days with saxophonist Kurt Elling (Nov. 25-26) plus a benefit for Merit School of Music with Nico Segal (previously known as Donnie Trumpet from the Chance the Rapper-affiliated band, The Social Experiment) and The JuJu Exchange (Nov. 28) and much more.

The show premieres in Riverside, CA on November 9 and will play cities from coast to coast. Produced by the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) with Executive Producer, Eva Price, and co-commissioned by the United Palace of Cultural Arts, The Hip Hop Nutcracker will feature Kurtis Blow, one of hip hop's founding fathers, opening the show in most cities with a short set before rapping the introduction.
