ONE CHILD BORN: THE MUSIC OF LAURA NYRO is a one-woman cabaret style show that can only be called a labor of love. Co-written by Louis Greenstein and its star Kate Ferber, it grew out of Ferber's own adoration of Nyro since childhood and blossomed into a genuine tribute by including testimonials from a variety of fictional "Nyrotics" whose lives were impacted by the late singer-songwriter.

The Twin Cities area is well known as a great theater town, so it is a fitting home to one of the nation's most celebrated new play festivals. The 32nd annual PlayLabs festival runs October 12-18 at the Playwrights' Center, a 44-year-old organization that is one of just a handful of play development centers in the country.
For the past two years The Kilroys solicited nominations from over 300 theatre professionals, (primarily artistic directors and literary managers), for their favorite new plays by female-identified playwrights. In June they published The List -- the top 53 of these plays. In the same spirit of promoting opportunities for female and trans artists, Colt Coeur will produce four public readings of new plays by female-identified playwrights to coincide with the run of How to Live on Earth, by MJ Kaufman, who's play Sagitarrius Ponderosa was selected for The List this year.
