Review: THE MINUTES at Tower Grove Abbey

Tense, terse, and at times testy, The Minutes is almost two plays in one. While the first half gives off the vibe of a comedic tale of small-town bureaucracy, the second half is a darker and more cynical examination of the erosion of power structures.

This week the spotlight falls on two actors who are sharing the stage in the Nashville premiere of 2012 First Night Honoree Chambers Stevens' Twain and Shaw Do Lunch, directed by veteran director Melissa Carelli: Brian Hill and Michael Roark, arguably two of Music City's finest actors, onstage together playing literary lions Mark Twain and George Bernard Shaw, respectively.

Showboat Circus Presents DeadPan Alley Featuring Will Shaw Today

This year the Showboat Circus is once again coming to Tribeca with old-time family entertainment aboard a century-old covered wooden barge. DeadPan Alley, starring Will Shaw, is a one-hour, one-man performance of physical comedy, verbal wit and expert skill. Audiences of all ages will be thrilled with astounding and hilarious displays of juggling and balance, fancy cowboy roping, flying boomerangs, rare and amazing spinning top manipulations, hat tricks, sight gags, audience participation and clowning steeped in the traditions of the great comedians from the silent film era to the present. DeadPan Alley also features serious (and not-so serious) musical presentations with the piano and harmonica. Will Shaw has performed on The Late Show with David Letterman, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and Sesame Street and was an instructor for the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus Clown College.

R.Evolución Latina is happy to announce that their 4th Annual D2GB ('Dare to Go Beyond') Children's Performing Arts Camp began today and has expanded to run for a FULL Week, from July 18th to July 22nd, 2011. The program has been recognized in local media as NY1's 'New Yorker of the Week' in 2010 as well as being honored with a feature spot on NBC's Nightly News with Brian Williams in a segment called 'Making a Difference'.
