Both '93696' and 'संसार' tease the group's new direction, as well as remind us of the power of this acclaimed band of guitarist and vocalist Ravenna Hunt-Hendrix, guitarist Mario Miron, bassist Tia Vincent-Clark and drummer Leo Didkovsky. 

Today's subject Laura Giannarelli has been living her theatre life for many years now on both sides of the footlights. As a performer she just completed a star turn in Gulf View Drive at Washington Stage Guild (WSG), the company she helped found back in 1986. The company's current show Resolving Hedda runs through April 14th at their home at The Undercroft Theatre at Mount Vernon Place United Methodist Church.

Vincent Clark, a veteran Washington, DC area actor, has based his play on personal struggles with matters of health. Clark is a founding member and 30-year veteran of the Washington Stage Guild, one of the DC area's most respected theatre companies. He is also a member of Actors Equity Association. This production is presented as a part of the 2018 United Solo Festival and is an Equity Approved Showcase.

Facing a medical crisis is never fun, particularly one that could potentially kill you. When we think of Norway, "laugh riot" is usually the last thing that comes to mind. The Washington Stage Guild's premiere production of Elling may be slow going at first, but it revs up to give you an amusing slice of life in modern-day Oslo. It's a very funny place indeed. This Elling is a classic comedy in the Odd Couple mode. Think: Neil Simon meets Sigmund Freud, with a healthy dose of Ken Kesey thrown in.

The Washington Stage Guild completes its Season of Dreams with the area premiere of Simon Bent's ELLING, a whimsical comedy of the power of friendship when everyday life is an adventure. Bent's London hit is based on a quartet of novels by the Norwegian writer Ingvar Ambjornsen that was the source of an Oscar-nominated film in 2002. ELLING is the story of a pair of misfits who, after rooming together for years in an institution, are offered an independent life - if they can cope with it. Elling and Kjell Bjarne must learn to deal with the world and each other's fears and quirks, and Elling's discovery of literary ambition becomes a path to a 'normal' life. Along the way the two have a series of offbeat adventures as they struggle with bureaucracy, relationships, and their own demons.

Methuselah tilts at the usual ideological windmills, with a fanciful dash of futurism thrown in for good measure. Perhaps because of its reach, the script shows occasional signs of strain; but the Stage Guild does an admirable job bringing our dear Irish curmudgeon's epic to life.
