York Theatre's 'NEO 2017' Celebrates Emerging Musical Theatre Writers Tonight

The York Theatre Company, dedicated to the development of new musicals and preserving musical gems from the past, presents the celebrated concert series NEO 2017: A Concert Celebration featuring new works by emerging musical theatre writers Masi Asare, Alan Gordon & Joy Son, Alexander Sage Oyen, and Mark Sonnenblick.

The York Theatre Company, dedicated to the development of new musicals and preserving musical gems from the past, has announced today the roster of performing artists scheduled to perform at the celebrated concert series NEO 2017: A Concert Celebration featuring new works by emerging musical theatre writers Masi Asare, Alan Gordon & Joy Son, Alexander Sage Oyen, and Mark Sonnenblick.

While the title MARK FELT, SUPERSTAR may receive befuddled reactions from those not fully familiar with American political scandals, you can't blame bookwriter/composer/lyricist Joshua Rosenblum for not naming his smart, breezy, informative and extremely enjoyable show 'Deep Throat, the musical.'

When former FBI agent Mark Felt revealed in 2005 that he had been Deep Throat, the secret source who helped Washington Post reporters Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein bring down President Richard Nixon, he ended one of the most intriguing chapters in the history of journalism (and one of the worst in U.S. politics).

John Turturro stars in the title role of Zorba, joined by Adam Chanler-Berat, Robert Cuccioli, Elizabeth A. Davis,Santino Fontana, Marin Mazzie, Robert Montano, Carlos Valdes and Zoe Wanamaker in Zorba!, running for seven performances, today, May 6, through May 10, 2015.

ZORBA! will be directed by Walter Bobbie (Chicago) and choreographed by Josh Rhodes (Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella) with musical direction by Rob Berman. ZORBA! is the final production of New York City Center's 2015 Encores! season.
