The Pittsburgh International Jazz Festival Presented by Citizens launches the MVP (Music is Very Powerful) Program to continue to nurture the next generation of music audiences, deliver jazz to seniors in their communities, support musicians, and bring jazz to neighborhoods across the region. 

Trace Mountains Shares New Single 'Rock & Roll' And Announces Spring Tour Dates


Trace Mountains (aka LVL UP's Dave Benton) shared 'Rock & Roll,' the new single from his new album, Lost In The Country. FLOOD Magazine, who premiered the song and profiled Benton today, is saying ''Rock & Roll' deals with some pretty heavy existential concepts while remaining tonally very calm,' addressing 'broader themes of identity and purpose swirling around impressively calm instrumentation from a full backing band.' Lost In The Country is available for pre-order now and due April 10th via Lame-O Records.

Trace Mountains (aka LVL UP's Dave Benton) has announced a new album and shared its title track 'Lost In The Country.' The FADER, who premiered the song and profiled Benton today, is saying the song finds 'Benton consciously channeling Kurt Vile, all stream-of-consciousness lyrics, metronomic backbone, and ambivalent guitars.'

After her passionate, pulsating and highly praised Spring 2013 show The Sound of Blue, at Iridium Jazz Club, a prominent cabaret critic called Billie Williams, "An emotionally resonant vocalist . . . pithy, powerful, and sure of the terrain. She GIVES a performance." Now a year later--on May 25 at 7:30 pm--Billie Williams makes her debut at New York City's Joe's Pub in a show celebrating the release of her new original single Lonely Night in Harlem, a song inspired by life in her long-time Harlem neighborhood. Billie's concert will also feature other new original songs and she'll be supported by an amazing group of seasoned Blues and R&B professionals, including Stew Cutler: guitar; Double-Z: bass; Tony Allen: drums; Ron Thompson: keyboards; Birch Johnson: trombone; Charlie Lagond: sax; and Marty Bound: trumpet.

The Tony Award-winning Vineyard Theatre celebrated the opening of its newest musical, The Slug Bearers of Kayrol Island (Or, The Friends of Dr. Rushower), featuring libretto and drawings by acclaimed cartoonist Ben Katchor and music composed by musician Mark Mulcahy, on Tuesday, February 12 at Osso Bucco on Unversity Place.
