A love letter to the golden age of Broadway, Bullets Over Broadway The Musical brings the classic musical comedy back with a bang. Loaded with the songs that made the 1920s roar, this splashy musical features Jazz Age standards including 'Let's Misbehave,' ''Tain't Nobody's Biz-ness If I Do,' "Tiger Rag," and 'Up a Lazy River.' In this madcap comedy, a young playwright finally gets his play produced on Broadway, but discovers there's a catch: the mobster putting up the funds wants a vehicle for his ditzy, talent-free girlfriend. Throw in an aging diva, dancing gangsters, and a bevy of beautiful chorus girls, and comedic capers ensue. Like any great art form, musical theatre is shaped by the events and philosophies of the day. The strength and vitality of musical theatre lie in its ability to stay fresh and relevant. It was with that idea in mind, ten years ago, that the New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) was created - to provide an effective platform to introduce new shows, new perspectives, and new blood into the musical theatre canon. The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County, together with Riviera South Beach hotel, Alan Lieberman and Nathan Lieberman, present the fifth annual MIAMI MADE FESTIVAL, featuring for 2013 a weeklong showcase of new works-in-progress created and performed by a roster of Miami-based artists across multiple disciplines, all of whom have previously collaborated with the Arsht Center. MIAMI MADE FESTIVAL 2013 will take place from February 26 to March 3 and includes staged play readings and a dance showcase on-site in the Carnival Studio Theater, as well as pop-up performances at the soon-to-be-opened hotel, Riviera South Beach.
