After the contagious success of Blow Me by Jessica Farr at our new home at the Miami Theater Center, Mad Cat Theatre Company is pleased to present MIXTAPE 2: UMMAGUMMA FORZA ZUMA! a collection of new works by various local artists and familiar faces. In 2008, Mad Cat released its first MIXTAPE featuring a mix of new plays and films steeped in nostalgia. Now, six years later, Mad Cat is back with a new mix of plays and films, MIXTAPE 2: UMMAGUMMA FORZA ZUMA!, a theatrical stew that is very much embedded in the present. MIXTAPE 2: UMMAGUMMA FORZA ZUMA! is about having the right mixture of mojo needed to make it through a metamorphosis. This collection of new works features pieces by Jessica Farr, Elena Maria Garcia, Theo Reyna, Deborah L. Sherman, Andres Solorzano, Paul Tei, and Kristina Wong as well as new films by Molly Gandour, George Schiavone and Matt Corey, Karelle Levy and Michael Landsberg, Wet Sock Ensemble (Erik Fabregat, Ralph de la Portilla and Ted Chambers), and Darin Gray of the band On Fillmore.

Miami Theater Center announces the addition of renowned performer Shaneeka Harrell to the cast of its production of The Love of Three Oranges. This colorful, dynamic interpretation of Count Carlo Gozzi's 18th-century tale was adapted by MTC Artistic Director Stephanie Ansin, who also directs this production. The performances, recommended for ages six and up, run from January 30, 2013 to March 10, 2013. All performances take place at MTC, located at 9806 NE 2nd Avenue, Miami Shores, FL 33138. Wrapping up Mad Cat Theatre Company's 12th season, is yet another World Premiere, this time a play written by Jessica Farr and Paul Tei. THE HAMLET DOG AND PONY SHOW is a deconstruction of Shakespeare's tragedy, HAMLET. Their take not only allots the age old question "To be or not to be" but contemplates whether or not the question is even still valid in today's hypermodern society. Through the use of music, multimedia and puppetry, The Hamlet Dog and Pony Show, directed by Paul Tei, is a tragedy of errors that remains in dialogue with the dead in order to build a method for which to go on living.

In this adaptation, directed by Stephanie Ansin and designed by Fernando Calzadilla, time, space and cultures collide as Alice tackles the challenges of her ever-changing dream world, with video projections enhancing every step of the way. Contemporary costumes, sounds, and objects infuse this classic tale with modern metropolitan Miami life.

On Sunday, April 17th from 12 pm to 6 pm, everyone is invited to join The PlayGround Theatre's celebration of this newest production by attending CHINATOWN Miami in Miami Shores. CHINATOWN Miami is a Chinese street festival that will fill Miami Shores with the sights, sounds, and tastes of the diverse cultures of China. Six blocks of downtown Miami Shores, NE 2nd Avenue from 94th to 100th streets, will be closed off for CHINATOWN Miami. The Chinese street festival is free and open to the public, and includes a green market, food, arts and crafts vendors, musicians, and shows for children that include magicians and dragons. The 2pm performance of The Red Thread will be followed by a traditional Chinese dragon parade featuring actors from the production, in addition to a post-performance VIP Chinese dining experience next to the theatre (tickets will be required).

Signature Shorts will also feature a dark comedy by Harold Pinter.
