The New York City Department of Cultural Affairs and the NYC Department of Design and Construction have begun a $24.1 million City-funded renovation project for the Nuyorican Poets Cafe on Manhattan’s Lower East Side.

The American Dance Guild Festival returns to Ailey Citigroup Theater from Feb. 22-25, featuring works by 30 contemporary choreographers and honoring Joan Miller, Ron K. Brown/Evidence, and Celia Ipiotis/Eye on Dance. Don't miss this celebration of modern dance innovation.

With the roster still building, Theater for the New City has currently scheduled over 200 performing arts organizations, independent artists, poets, puppeteers and film makers for its 28th annual Lower East Side Festival of the Arts, which will be mounted May 26 to 28 in and around Theater for the New City, 155 First Ave. (at E. 10th Street). Dance/NYC has announced the grantees of the Coronavirus Dance Relief Fund: New York State Edition, including 100 individual dance makers and 65 dance making organizations/groups.

The Alpha Omega Theatrical Dance Company will celebrate its 45th Anniversary with performances of works by Eleo Pomare and company artistic director Enrique Cruz DeJesus, November 18 & 19 at the Ailey Citigroup Theater, Ninth Avenue & 55th Street. Two company premieres will be included in the program: the world premiere of DeJesus' Mending Minds, and the company premiere of Pomare's 1967 Las Desenamoradas, music by John Coltrane.
