Plays for New Audiences, the script licensing division for the Tony Award-winning® Children’s Theatre Company, has announced new titles now available for licensing.

We were finally able to track him down and ask him to help our readers learn more about him via our Getting to Know… feature while he was on a trip to Ireland where he represented NCT at an international conference on theater for younger audiences. Ernie Nolan, an award-winning director and playwright based in Chicago, has been named as the new artistic director of Nashville Children's Theatre, beginning February 1, 2017. Nolan succeeds Scot Copeland, NCT Producing Artistic Director for 31 years, who died unexpectedly in February of this year.

Producers Michael Alden, George DeMarco, Frank Evans and Jack Lechner announced today that they will present a private reading of the new musical DATE OF A LIFETIME on Thursday, September 17th. Four time Tony Award winner Jerry Zaks (Guys and Dolls) serves as Creative Consultant. Date of a Lifetime features a book and lyrics by Carl Kissin and music by Rob Baumgartner, Jr.

National Corporate Theatre Fund (NCTF) held its Annual Chairman's Awards Gala and benefit yesterday, Monday, April 19 at the St. Regis New York hotel. This year, NCTF Chairman James S. Turley, Chairman & CEO of Ernst & Young, honored Nathan Lane (currently starring on Broadway in The Addams Family), set designer Eugene Lee (Wicked) and Wells Fargo & Company. Accepting the award on behalf of Wells Fargo was Joe Kirk, Regional President for New York and Connecticut. All net proceeds of the event will be distributed as the NCTF/WELLS FARGO FUND FOR NEW AMERICAN THEATRE.

Arden Theatre Company presents the revival of the smash-hit musical, A Year with Frog and Toad, based on the Newbery and Caldecott Honored children's books by Arnold Lobel. Directed by Whit MacLaughlin (James and the Giant Peach, The BFG) A Year with Frog and Toad begins previews on Wednesday, March 4, 2009; opens Saturday, March 7, 2009; and runs through Sunday, April 19, 2009.
