Richard Vida has had the great distinction to be a working actor, singer and dancer for the past 30 years on and off Broadway, in national and international tours, television, films, commercials, and has danced with the greats of pop music in MTV videos. This journey has also garnered him accolades “behind the table” as an award-winning talent director, television and documentary film producer, and teacher which have presented myriad bizarre opportunities from hiding from the authorities in the New York City subway tunnels on gorilla shoots with the “mole people,” and traveling the world as a documentarian observing twenty-first century side-show performers, including London’s Circus of Horrors, Toronto’s Carnival Diablo, and New York’s anarchistic Bindlestiff Family Circus. His varied and eclectic life and professional experiences have allowed him to fulfill his calling to share his and others’ voices through every medium. Still, the theatre remains his first love, and he continues to be inspired by the profound cultural consequences generated by the theatrical process in the sharing of a narrative through performance.Richard Vida News

Directed by Richard Vida and choreographed by Lainie Sakakura, The Little Dancer is dazzling Upper West Side audiences with the poignant story it has to tell. This musical has every lovable quality a person can ever desire: from the children who comprise the Musical Theater Geek Chorus, to the graceful dancers that prove these actresses, too, strive just as hard for perfection as the characters they play, This production captures the very essence of magic that exists in a child's heart when she is given reason to hope; during a time of self-reflection and the wonder of the holiday spirit, we see just how important a place The Little Dancer will continue to hold in the hearts of all those who are fortunate enough to see it.
