The Kimmel Center Cultural Campus is pleased to announce a diverse array of holiday-themed programming & family-friendly events, including: returning favorites from the Kimmel Center's esteemed Resident Companies like The Philadelphia Orchestra, Pennsylvania Ballet, and The Philly POPS; FREE Gospel events; and opportunity for community outreach & city-wide celebrations like the FREE 15th annual New Year's Day celebration. This year, the Kimmel Center partners with Urban Affairs Coalition for 'Warmth for the Holidays 2019' donation drive, collecting new hats, scarves, mittens and gloves for children and adults. The Philly POPS kicks off its Christmas concert series with the sixth annual Comcast NBCUniversal I'll Be Home for Christmas: A Salute to the Military and First Responders December 6, 2019 at 8 p.m. at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. At this annual benefit concert, the POPS hosts 2,000 members of the military, veterans, police and fire departments, and their families. The concert is presented in partnership with the USO, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the City of Philadelphia, and the Philadelphia Police and Fire Departments.

On Thursday, July 25 at 7:00pm Marble Collegiate Church will present Silent Film Night, featuring two classic films, Buster Keaton's The Haunted House, and Charlie Chaplin's The Kid. Each film will be accompanied with a live, improvised score by world-renowned musician Peter Richard Conte, the Wanamaker Grand Court Organist at Macy's in Philadelphia. Conte, known for his technical brilliance and virtuosity, also serves as Principal Organist of Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA and is a frequent collaborator and soloist with The Philadelphia Orchestra. He will begin the evening with his interpretation of the overture from Candide.Â
