With his company, Reuben Cannon Entertainment, Cannon has been involved with over one hundred television series, made-for-tv movies and films. In partnership with Tyler Perry Studios and Lions Gate Films he produced 10 record-breaking movies including Diary of a Mad Black Woman, Why Did I Get Married and Madea’s Goes to Jail. He also served as the Executive Producer of the popular TV series House of Payne. Cannon is a Board member of the Motion Picture Academy of Arts and Sciences and has received many industry awards.

As the two newcomers butt heads over issues of race and privilege, longstanding tensions bubble under the surface and reach a boiling point when secrets are revealed. "Stick Fly" is directed by Karen Dacons-Brock, who last directed "Caroline, or Change" at RLT in 2014.
