Manoa Valley Theatre is celebrating its momentous 50th Anniversary with a play season filled with star-studded audience favorites, Broadway blockbusters and compelling dramas that herald the next half-century for the noted Off-Broadway playhouse. During its anniversary season, MVT will present a spectrum of multi- disciplinary experiences including musical comedies, historical dramas and audience participation events. New collaborations and partnerships are just two of the many features of the season. In what will be a world premiere, MVT has commissioned an original script, Shipment Day, about well-known leprosy activist Olivia Robello Breitha and Hawaii's leprosy history. It will also produce the Hawaii premiere of Allegiance, a Broadway musical about the Japanese American internment during WWII and one family's extraordinarily divisive experience.

As with the original production, the show begins with a sidesplitting ceremony, which will now be held at the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis High School at 120 West 46th Street (formerly the Performing Arts High School, the school on which the film and TV show Fame was based). Immediately following the ceremony, the bridal party will escort their family and friends through the heart of Times Square and Shubert Alley to Guy's American Kitchen & Bar (220 West 44th Street)! Once at Guy's American, guests will enjoy an Italian-style buffet dinner, as well as cocktails and dancing all night long to DJ Donny Dolce, NYC's #1 wedding singer/DJ.

'The Dog Enchanted by the Divine View,' Tennessee Williams' first version of 'The Rose Tattoo,' will have its World Premiere on Tuesday, September 16 at 8:00 p.m. at the Boston Center for the Arts Plaza Theatre! Directed by David Kaplan, the play about a hot Sicilian widow on a date with a truck driver will feature noted Boston area actor Larry Coen and the original Tina from 'Tony N' Tina's Wedding,' Nancy Cassaro. Scenery is by Sue Rees, costumes by Rita Ryack, and lighting by Megan Tracy.
