MainStreet Theatre Company to Receive $15,000 Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts


The City of Rancho Cucamonga's MainStreet Theatre Company has been approved for a $15,000 Art Works grant to support the development and world premiere of Mariachi Tales, a new play with music by José Cruz Gonzáles. Mr. Gonzáles is an award-winning playwright whose plays have been produced at theatres across the country. A collection of his plays, Nine Plays by José Cruz González Magical Realism & Mature Themes in Theatre for Young Audiences was published by the University of Texas Press in 2009.

MainStreet Theatre Company Announces 2019-20 Season


MainStreet Theatre Company, the resident professional company at the Lewis Family Playhouse, has three unique offerings in store for the thousands of school groups and families who make up the bulk of their audiences.  "I'm so excited to announce our 14th season", says Mireya Hepner, MainStreet's Artistic Producer. "We always aim to tell a variety of stories for different ages, full of ideas that will resonate with young people and their families. Each of our shows next season is unique, but they share one common theme: that even under adverse circumstances, people have the capacity for hope. I'm thrilled to be sharing these wonderful pieces with our audiences".

MainStreet Theatre Company, the resident professional company at the Lewis Family Playhouse, has special treats in store for the thousands of school groups and families who make up the bulk of their audiences.  "I'm so excited to announce our 13th season", says Mireya Hepner, MainStreet's Producer. "We always strive to share stories that the kids and families will not only enjoy, but will send positive messages, as well. The three offerings next season are very different from each other, but all are geared for families to enjoy together. Our season includes a nostalgic musical, a magical introduction to contemporary dance based on a beloved book, and a new take on an age-old story."

MainStreet Theatre Company to Present California premiere of ELEPHANT & PIGGIE'S WE ARE IN A PLAY


MainStreet Theatre Company, celebrating its 10th season, is delighted to announce the California premiere of Elephant & Piggie's "We are in a Play!" Art Manke is the Director/Choreographer, with Musical Direction by the show's composer, Deborah Wicks-La Puma. The production will play eight school performances from October 5th - 9th, and open to the public on Saturday, October 10th at 4pm. The strictly limited engagement will run through Sunday, October 25th only.
