Michael Mendiola BIO

Michael Mendiola is an American playwright, writer and actor. As a playwright, Mike recently completed his first full-length play, The Book of Dorothy, based on the real life events of activist, Sister Dorothy Stang. He penned script revisions for the Off-Off Broadway production of The Ketchup Commercial and is currently working on the plays 360º and The Future's So Bright. Other projects include co-writing the novel and webisodes for Velvet Moon Chronicles (www.VelvetMoonChronicles.com).

Prior to writing, Mike was an actor whose New York credits include After the Fair (York Theatre), The Time of Your Life and Spokesong-The Common Wheel (Storm Theatre), Anne of Green Gables (Theatreworks, Lucille Lortel), City of Dreams (Youngblood), Foxy and That’s the Ticket (Musicals Tonight!). Boston credits include Floyd Collins, Company, Bat Boy the Musical, Caroline or Change, and William Finn’s Elegies all for the SpeakEasy Stage Company. Other regional credits include lead roles in Follies, It’s a Wonderful Life, She Loves Me, Carnival, Brigadoon, Jesus Christ Superstar, Children of Eden, and The Secret Garden. Member of AEA since 1998.
