Da Camera Singers, the adult chamber choir located in the Pioneer Valley, will present the Western Massachusetts premiere of Craig Hella Johnson's oratorio Considering Matthew Shepard on May 21 at 4 PM in the auditorium at Greenfield High School, 21 Barr Ave, Greenfield, MA.

The Long Beach Camerata Singers continue their 57th season on Sunday November 13, 2022 with a special performance of the iconic contemporary oratorio, “Considering Matthew Shepard.”  This performance continues the conversation started in October with Peace Project 6: Community, which featured works by LGBTQ composers, arrangers and lyricists. 

The 50-member Dessoff Choirs begins its 97th season with the New York premiere of Considering Matthew Shepard by Craig Hella Johnson.

The brutal murder of Matthew Shepard in 1998 caused anguish and outrage, and almost 20 years later inspired American composer Craig Hella Johnson to compose an oratorio: at once commemorating the tragedy of a young life lost; and capturing the fullness of Matthew's 21 years and his legacy.

At about half an hour into Michael Dennis' debut play Dark Sublime, the uncomfortable thought occurred to me that there was still two hours left to go. The piece had opened strongly with numerous jokes directed at the arts industry, but already it felt as if it had played its hand. Sadly, my fears were correct, and what followed was an uninteresting exploration of a woman haunted by the past.

Joining Marina Sirtis (Star Trek: The Next Generation) as she makes her West End debut are theatre titans Jacqueline King (Doctor Who, BBC; Spring Storm, National Theatre) and Simon Thorp (Hard Sun, BBC; Royal Shakespeare Company), esteemed actor and LQBTQ+ campaigner Sophie Ward (Young Sherlock Holmes, Amblin Entertainment; Jane Eyre, BBC Films) alongside one of the most exciting up and coming UK actors Kwaku Mills (good dog, UK Tour; The End of Eddy, UK Tour). Stage and screen star Mark Gatiss (Sherlock and League of Gentlemen, BBC; The Madness of George III, Nottingham Playhouse) will be lending his voice to the part of Kosley, a hysterical talking computer, in this world premiere of Dark Sublime.

Stage and screen star Mark Gatiss (Sherlock, BBC1; Doctor Who, BBC1; The Madness of George III, Nottingham Playhouse; The League of Gentlemen, BBC Two and UK tour) will be lending his voice to the part of Kosley, a hysterical talking computer, in the world premiere of Dark Sublime. Gatiss joins the previously announced Martina Sirtis (Star Trek: The Next Generation) who will be making her West End debut.

Making her West End debut, Star Trek: The Next Generation star Marina Sirtis will take the lead in the world premiere of Dark Sublime. Further casting, including an iconic voice of Science Fiction, will be announced in 2019. Directed by Andrew Keates (As Is and Dessa Rose - Trafalgar Studios), Dark Sublime, the debut play by Michael Dennis, is a love-letter to British sci-fi television - both those that make it and those that adore it.

On the occasion of the 20-year mark of Matthew Shepard's tragic death, the Ford Theatres presents Considering Matthew Shepard, on Friday, June 15 and Saturday June 16 at 8:30pm, in association with Chris Isaacson Presents. Part of the 2018 Season and the IGNITE @ the FORD! series, Considering Matthew Shepard is performed by the 30-member GRAMMY Award-winning Conspirare choir, and composed and conducted by its GRAMMY Award-winning artistic director, Craig Hella Johnson. 

BBC America's QUEERS sees eight established writers respond to the 50th anniversary of The Sexual Offences Act which partially decriminalized homosexual acts between men in the UK, will air throughout the day on October 11.

As DEAD ROCK WEST--the California alt-country rock group fronted by Cindy Wasserman and Frank Lee Drennen--approach the Friday (8/11) release of their new album MORE LOVE (Omnivore Recordings), the band partnered with The Bluegrass Situation to premiere the album's title track.

The Old Vic today announces casting for Queers, a series of eight monologues curated by Mark Gatiss. Staged on 28 and 31 July at The Old Vic, they mark 50 years since the Sexual Offences Act of 1967 began the decriminalisation process for homosexuality between men. Queers celebrates some of the most poignant, funny, tragic and riotous moments of British gay male history over the last century.

It's the lead single off their new album MORE LOVE due out Friday, August 11 via Omnivore Recordings.

For their fourth album and first for Omnivore Recordings that's due out August 11, the California vocal duo of Cindy Wasserman and Frank Lee Drennen have joined forces with producer John Doe--of the legendary band X, with whom they've toured numerous times--to create an album that places their achingly beautiful signature vocals and harmonies in finely etched rock, alt-country and pop settings.
